I believe good things happen to good people.
So last week I went to Game 4 of the NLDS to see the @nationals and the @cubs play at Wrigley Field. I landed a front toe seat behind the Nats dugout. Being a Nationals fan, best seat in the house!
Long story short, and I’ve already posted about....
Michael A. Taylor hit his first post season home run, which was a Grand Slam. This was also the first Grand Slam in Nationals and Expos history.
Being a Cubs tradition, Cubs fans tossed the ball back into the field... the call was tossed to Daniel Murphy , who then tossed it to the 1st Base coach, he then picked the call up and rolled it to the dugout. I yelled to Dusty Baker, “Yo Dusty there is a ball in front of you!” He picked it up and tossed it to me.
Me know what this ball meant to Michael A Taylor and the Nationals Organization, I gave it back.
They sent me a Michael A Taylor Bat in the mail today. Not signed, but still awesome! Thanks Nats!

Let’s kick off our Nationals offseason coverage with a “Season in Review” series. We’ll go through the roster and take a look at each player’s stat line, overall performance, and impact on the team in 2017. Let’s begin with Bryce Harper.
111 G, 492 PA, .319/.413/.595, 29 HR, 87 RBI, 27 2B, 1 3B, 9 SB, 16.2 BB%, 20.0 K%, .404 wOBA, 149 wRC+, 5.3 WAR.
Positives: Harper played his least amount of games since 2014 due to a serious knee/leg injury in August on a run to first base. When he WAS playing, Bryce’s production was near to his 2015 MVP season. Everything you could want out of a hitter, Bryce has. He adjusted his swing throughout the season in order to increase his production with two-strikes, and the changes helped Harper become one of the league’s best in that count. He’s an active learner and an MVP-caliber talent that can be coached. He attacks his weaknesses and turns them into strengths; that says something about his aptitude AND his ability.
Negatives: Bryce still struggles with a messy swing motion. Pitchers continue to attack him to the middle and high outside, and it can be hard to get solid contact on those pitches when his leg plans and kick angles are consistent. He’s also never been a great defender, and that continued here; -2.3 Def WAR in 2017...but if we know anything about Bryce, it’s likely that these areas of his game will only improve as his career progresses. Will the majority of it will be in DC? That’s a post for another day.
Let’s hear your thoughts on Harper’s season! Comment below. #Natitude #MLB #baseball #OnePursuit
So many questions. Will next season be Bryce’s last in DC? Will Jayson Werth retire? Is the championship window closing?
In this post, we’ll look at one of the most immediate issues the Nationals will deal with as the offseason begins: will Dusty Baker he kept on as manager? 2017 was his last year under contract. Players and team officials alike have repeated that they want him to return. But is that the right choice?
My opinion? No. He needs to go. He created the best clubhouse environment this organization has ever had. The players rave about how fun he is to be around, and how the vet allows them to be themselves. But that’s only one part of the job. He dropped the ball what was most important: in-game player management. I could go on and on about moves he should’ve made, players he should’ve used, pitchers he should’ve taken out earlier...but that could take up an entire book.
The bottom line is that his bad decisions played a major part in our 3 NLDS losses. We need a manager that puts our players in the best position to succeed when playoff time comes around, and Baker clearly does not fit that bill. That’s my two cents...what about you? Comment your take. #Natitude #MLB #baseball #OnePursuit
21 games, 12 wins, 3 rain outs, and 5 walkoff wins. 23-5 against the Mets with Rendon hitting a franchise record 6-6, 3 homeruns and 10 RBIs. 15-2 against the Brewers with 4 home runs in a row, 5 in one inning and 8 total, tying a MLB record and setting a franchise record. An Immaculate Inning by Scherzer (three strikeouts, nine pitches) after taking a scary line drive off his knee. 11:05, 12:05, 1:05, 1:35, 4:05, 7:05, 8:05, 8:08, and 10:10 first pitch starts. Sections 100, 200, 300, 400, Club Level, outfield, Red Porch, and Delta Sky Club. I visited Nats park every month, April-September. I saw the most incredible sunsets. I was picked for the White House Challenge and won. I went to games by myself, with my family, in town friends, out of town friends, with colleagues, and first timers. I befriended a bartender (free/discounted drinks!) and sat down on the baselines for brunch and a game on the big screen. I ate a lot of veggie dogs and learned to tolerate Bud Light (aka the $9.50 cheap beer). I got two bobble heads, a beer stein, slap bracelet, and a Scherzer snow globe. I spent more money than I care to acknowledge and have an insane number of photos. To sum it up: the 2017 Nationals season was amazing and I loved every moment I was at Nats Park. Next season goals: a foul/homerun ball, more wins, playoff tickets, and a baseball player as a husband. Is it April 5, 2018 yet?
I get by with a little help from my friends.
Thanks to my amazing #RedPorch100 fam for welcoming this newbie season plan holder—I couldn't have asked for better people to spend the 2017 season with. See y'all in 2018.

Another heartbreaking post-season series loss for the Nationals. I missed very few games this year: attending a handful and watching the majority of the rest on tv. It was such a fun season, but it was tough to see it end like it did. I avoided the articles, tweets, and radio shows today. Wasn’t mad, it was still too fresh of a sucky ending. And I hate the complaining and second guessing. I will be back cheering for them next year and watching roster moves in the winter. It just wasn’t our time to win it all. I’ll be back at it for spring training, baseball friends. Nats #onepursuit
@mrpercythepup and I are 💔after last night's @nationals' loss, and we're packing up our gear for the long, lonely, bitter winter without our beloved #Nationals ⚾️. Baseball fans (and certainly #NatsFans) are no strangers to heartbreak.
As A. Bartlett Giamatti said: "[Baseball] is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall all alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops." BUT, because in baseball hope springs eternal, we're looking ahead to Spring Training and the 2018 season. We #believe our #Nats will take care of business next year. We look forward to chilly spring evenings at the park, lazy Sunday afternoon #CurlyWs, humid summer long balls, and the elusive championship win in the fall. Loyalty will be rewarded. #IBackTheNats #NowAndAlways #OnePursuit #Natitude
