The photo on the left was at the beginning of November.. the day that I decided the name “80 day obsession” wasn’t going to scare me. That I needed a SERIOUS long term, sustainable plan that would keep me on my toes!! 🙌🏼

The photo on the right was taken this morning.. 41 days into the obsession I have become apart of. I could NOT BE HAPPIER. I am seeing changes in my body that I never thought were possible.. I had begun to convince myself that I would just always be “the bigger girl”... 🙄

Eff that y’all!! I’m going to be that STRONG girl. That girl who is comfortable in my own skin not selling myself short because I CAN and WILL continue to work for what I want. I will no longer sit back and watch amazing things pass me by and say silently to myself “I could never...” ✌🏼

If you scroll back, you can find a post from May 3rd where my strict pull up max was 5 reps. My goal then was 10 strict pull ups. The bad news is almost 10 months later, I still haven't hit it. The good news is that I found out yesterday that I can do more strict pull ups than @bedroskeuilian (although his traps are still way more impressive than mine 🤪). .

Although it sometimes feels like I've been stalled here forever, the reality is that I've made slow but steady progress, I'm only 1 rep shy now, and I know I'll hit it soon. .
.
There are no shortcuts...hard things require hard work, dedication, and the ability to just keep going when the outcome still feels far away. Trying to learn that lesson in every area of my life, not only with my fitness goals. Some areas are harder than others but I've always noticed how chasing hard things physically makes it easier to chase other hard things. It's always been one of my favorite things about fitness...well that and becoming a stronger more badass version of myself. Anyone else agree? #bettereveryday .

Sometimes the best way to avoid injury is pretending like you have the injury. Now that doesn’t mean you are a hypochondriac but it does mean taking some time to think about what injuries or pain you are prone to having and taking a few minutes several times a week to perform the exercises you would do if you had the injury. That way you can help protect against it! This is a great drill to protect against knee pain! Give it a try!
