Sezaryen yaparken siz de bebeğinizi görmek ister misiniz? İşte epidural farkı (yani belinden yapılan narkoz) önceden gebelerimiz görmek istemiyordu sadece babalar ameliyathaneye girerlerse görebiliyordu bebeklerini... ama artık herkes o anı yaşamak istiyor... haklı da...❤👍🏻

I have officially become one of those midwives with birthy jewellery 😝 Couldn't resist this gorgeous glass mama and baby pendant 💜 Thinking I may pop it on a silver chain though to make it more 'me'.

When you think back to your baby's birth how do you feel? Overall are the memories positive? Or is it a flood of negative emotions?
Sometimes the emotional wounds of birth run deep and women struggle with the impact of giving birth.

PAIN-AVOIDING ATTITUDE // Over the years of my involvement in birth work I’ve become aware of five ‘attitude groups’ when it comes to pain in labour. These can help to predict what will happen when pain dynamics get going. Spread across a continuum they are a ‘pain-avoiding’ group, a ‘status quo’ group, a ‘wait and see’ group, an ‘aspirational but naïve’ group, and, finally, a ‘pain embracing’ group.

Pain-avoiding attitude

These women take a proactive position—proactive to avoid all pain in labour. Women who have this attitude hit a ‘crisis of confidence’ long before the labour. They’ve taken the cultural message about pain in labour and run with it. They’re highly motivated to avoid all pain and have made the particular choices that back their intentions for a managed, pain-free labour. They don’t want to leave it to chance, they want that ‘epidural at the first contraction’, or possibly even an elective caesarean.

They see no value in the pain of labour or working with it and instead feel that ‘in this day and age women shouldn’t have to suffer the barbaric pain of labour’. For these women, the epidural has it covered and they’re damn well going to get one.

This position is a combination of other attitudes—that modern medicine should be able to save us from the ordeal of pain, and that, anyway, it’s our right to choose. This can also combine with feminist ideals about freeing women from the burdens of our reproductive maternal bodies.

This pain-avoiding woman is highly motivated to avoid all pain in labour; she’s fearful of the pain, sees no value in it and wants it fully controlled. She ensures she is definitely surrounded by ‘pain relief’ attitudes and practices—she is not leaving it to chance. She makes particular choices regarding place of birth and caregivers and definitely does not want to ‘lose control’. She wants a ‘civilised’ birth and so plans to avoid any of that messy crisis vulnerability stuff.

She doesn’t want to deal with the pain, she doesn’t see that she should have to, it’s not on her agenda. This attitude is entirely backed by the current cultural mindset and birth culture practices.

Preparing for baby number 2. My favourite #babycarrier of all time is the #ergobaby but likely I will have to have a #caesarean so wanted something to use in the early few months while I #heal. Luckily this one isn't too expensive. I'm a big big fan of #babywearing as my oldest had severe #reflux and the only thing that soothed him was being in a #sling or babycarrier. #boba #bobawrap #babyprep #mumofboys #csection #vbac #mumlife #realmum #babywrap

** Video sped up!** A little fun after my workout this morning!! Just under a year ago I had my little baba by caesarean/ c section. I honestly thought after that I would truly never get any strength back in my core, I was utterly taken aback by how big of an operation it was and how little feeling ( let alone strength) I had in my abdomen following the section.
I remember thinking to myself that I might never sneeze again without feeling some pain...but I once the doctor gave me the all clear I was determined to work at gaining back some miniscule of strength again.

I walked slowly from 6 weeks (pushing that buggy is harder than it looks!) and at 12 weeks I started back very gently with @kayla_itsines #bbg plan. I didn't have the time or the confidence to get in the gym but slowly and surely over the last 9 months the guide has allowed me to build my strength back up to the point where I'm now able to headstand....something I never thought I would manage again!
Headstands are strong, for your body and your mind too, its about body awareness in space, strength and confidence. Whilst my body isn't where I want it to be, I'm super proud of how far I've come from my c section to today. If I can do it, you can too!

I want to thank all the guys on insta that have pushed me through and inspired me to workout on days when the babas been up all night, or when I'm just not feeling it! Why I became a coach... 💜 Because I had Hypnobirthing clients asking me why no one told them this information at the start. 💜 Because being pregnant can be downright scary when it's your first baby, and I don't want any woman to feel unnecessarily scared during her pregnancy. 💜 Because far too many women feel anxious and sad when they think about their previous birth, and just need someone who will listen and help make sense of everything. 💜 Because we are so focussed on checking your blood pressure and blood tests, that how you're feeling often doesn't even come into conversation, other than the generic 'how are you?' 💜 Because all of a sudden you've hit the 37 week mark - this baby could come any time now and you're starting to freak out! 💜 Because all women deserve to feel empowered, and to have someone alongside them who is just as excited about their pregnancy as they are, and is 100% there to help them along their journey. 💜 Because conceiving, growing, birthing and then nurturing your baby is not just a physical event, but a huge emotional transition.
