I lost so much weight that summer. I was at my ultimate health. I had so much energy and my skin glowed. It really is the way we are designed to eat. 👊🏽If you are struggling to put on muscle and make gains there's a simple reason (or more than one) for it. These are the 6 most common ones we see far too often:

1. Not enough weight & strength training: when it comes to making gains most people keep on talking about food and telling you to eat, eat, eat... however, the number one tool to add muscle mass is and will always be training hard. It doesn't matter how much and how well you eat, if you don't do enough weight and strength training you will NOT make any gains. Primarily, eating doesn't build muscles; training does ☝️🏽 Otherwise, we wouldn't have this epidemic of obesity around us and, instead, we'd have a Schwarzenegger look-alike epidemic.

2. Not doing the right training for your goals: this one is more common than you'd think 🤔Playing golf or sitting on a static bicycle will not develop your shoulders and biceps.

3. Consistency is key. Training once a week isn't enough, just like having training patterns in the style of training hard as a mofo during 2 weeks and then having 2 weeks off isn't good enough either.

4. Too much cardio? Go and lift some iron! 🏋️ Back to point 1, 2 and 3.

5. Sleep, sleep, sleep! 😴While we sleep we repair and regenerate and... our muscles get to grow from all our hard training.

6. Not eating enough: so you are doing everything else ok but go around semi-starving yourself and depriving your body of calories and nutrients... Not good at all, as if you don't nurture your body as you should, it won't be able to build new muscle mass.

If you aren't sure which sort of training you should do, enlist the help of a professional personal trainer. Keep it consistent, train hard, sleep, eat well (vegan, focusing around wholefoods) and prepare to greet your #vgainz.
