Pushing beyond the boundaries of your comfort zone may take some practice but the rewards are well worth it, for both personal and business development.

There’s actually a lot of science behind breaking free of your comfort zone and why it’s good for you when you do it. With some understanding and some adjustments you can break away from your routine and do great things!

It’s fairly common knowledge that seeking new experiences, learning new skills and opening the door to new ideas inspire and educate us in a way that little else does. Trying new things can make us reflect on our old ideas and where they clash with our new knowledge and inspire us to learn more and challenge confirmation bias, our tendency to only seek out information we already agree with. I got this question today from one of my online clients.

Apparently, some butt head told her she shouldn’t eat steamed broccoli. It’s bad for you. Something about losing the nutrients blah blah blah SNORE.

First and foremost…that person is a cotton headed ninny muggins and deserves to be punched in the elbow pits.

Why confuse people more? Health and fitness confuses and overwhelms people already. If someone is trying to eat more vegetables, let them! .
Creating good health habits is hard enough without your shitty advice. What do good health habits consist of?
.
- Eating vegetables and fruits
- Eating protein
- Limiting “non-real” food
- Not stressing if you do eat some “non-real” food
- Lifting weights 2-3x per week
- Getting your heart rate up 1-2x per week
- Walking alot
.
When we start to focus on the millions of things that have no relevance to our goal, we get distracted from the few things that really will make the goal happen.

The trivial many and the vital few.
.
In this case, she’s already lost 21 pounds and the process was simple:

1. Eat the right amount of calories
2. Focus on eating real foods for most of those
3. Lifting weights and getting stronger

Worrying about how much nutrients are lost in cooking is not important. What’s more important is simply eating vegetables in the first place.

A little #transformationtuesday for yaz ⬆️...woah. Just WOAH. It’s hard for me to even share the pic on the left 👈🏼 because I can’t even believe that was me at one point, 5️⃣ years ago. I had alwaysss been a yo-yo “dieter” and my weight fluctuated like crazy 🌀because I never found a #lifestyle that fit me or who I am. I thought I was eating healthily- I’d have a big salad, pita chips and hummus, wheat pasta (too often) and exercised somewhat regularly but my portions were way off/too big, I was drinking too often 🍻 and I had no #consistency of a routine. I had no idea about @toneitup until my BFF told me about it and I slowly began incorporating the workouts into my life a few years ago 🤸🏼‍♂️ It wasn’t until 2016 that I jumped fully into the @toneitupnutrition plan and I’ve never looked back since 🙅🏼‍♀️ I absolutely love eating multiple times a day because I am in looove with food and enjoy every bite I put into my body 😍 I’ve learned what my body wants, needs and how to #respect that and all my body is capable of. I’m stronger inside and out 💪🏼 but most importantly, I am confident now and more than I’ve ever been in my life, which is something I never thought I’d say. I’m far from perfect, 🍕🧀 I have a long way to go to get where I’m headed and I have weeks when I don’t feel that #confidence I constantly strive for, but you know what? That’s OKAY! That’s life, there are amazing moments and some moments you’d choose not to relive probably 👀 I wanted to write this post today because I need some encouragement myself to break through a plateau and remind myself to keep pushing and never settling to be my absolute best 🌟 If anyone is feeling me or just beginning your #fitnessjourney towards #selflove you’re not alone 💕 When you slip up, begin again. I’ve just been going through some of my old training books and found this Muscle Up session from exactly 3 years ago where I was managing 1 or 2 ring dips.
I remember the blood, sweat and tears that went in to these types of sessions at the time. I very rarely missed a session for over a 2 year period, I remember that every session was so hard and so painful but I also remember just how badly I wanted it! 💪🏼 It seemed like such an impossibility when I started and I hated the fact that I couldn’t do it so much which made me even more determined! nobody tells me I can’t do something! Not even myself! 😂
I wanted a Muscle Up as I saw it as a true test of strength and commitment 💪🏼
I wanted my body to represent my mind and I wanted to prove to myself that I could do anything I wanted if I put my mind to it, no matter how impossible it seemed at the beginning, so I kept going, I kept going to every session, I kept trying, I kept failing, I kept adding an extra second here and there on a negative or holding a position for half a second longer etc and eventually these tiny bits of progress lead to me being able to add that extra rep or set, I was heading in the right direction so I kept repeating the process for as long as it took until I got my first muscle up!
I did that, no one did it for me, no one gave it to me, no one paid for it, it was mine I had earnt it and no one could take it away from me 👊🏼 Pushing myself and hitting goals like that is one of the best feelings in the wold for me 💚
If you want it, go and get it!

The road to success is a very tough one. However it’s kinda like driving a car 🚘: Self Belief is the fuel you need to get started on your journey. Then once you get self belief you then a get a thing called strategy. Which is the navigation to direct you on the right path.
