#Summer is coming!

I am a self-confessed Sun worshipper, a child of sunshine and a mermaid wannabe.

I am a #beachlover, sand-in-between-my-toes kinda girl and I see my old days spent right next to the sound of lapping waves. But since I'm not a golden girl yet, I will make trips to the beach every now and then, and vow to become a #plogger even if I'm not the best runner.

So let's #keepbeachesclean

This is where I was soaking it all in exactly ten years ago today. Definitely one of the most spectacular beaches I’ve ever seen. There’s also a palpable sacred aura all around this area, as it sits beside & below the Mayan ruins of Tulum. Some might say it can take your breath away...
.
Yes, we all wound up playing, swimming and taking photos along this beach and it was beyond awesome. Then it was off to do some guided snorkeling at a different location with more reefs several miles away.
.
The rip tide snuck up on all of us suddenly and grabbed me with such force that both flippers flew off my feet. I was the furthest one out, attempting to make sure my family stayed within a safe distance to the shore. Too busy trying not to drown and shouting to my wife-to-be (the next day!) to go toward our girls and grab the buoy lines. They appeared to be getting some of the rip, but nothing like I was fighting.
.
Waves from the reef line began to crash over me and I’d already taken a couple mouthfuls of water trying but failing to back float against the monster tide. Not gonna lie, thought I was gonna die. And I believed my family, who I could no longer see, was in peril too...
.
Suddenly a Latin angel, well actually a life guard in a kayak, appeared out of nowhere, extended her paddle and pulled me back to my blessed life. Others had raced out to pull everyone else from danger a few minutes before me. We all collapsed in a heap of salty tears, hugging on the beach. This was one date I swore I’d never forget!

trekking the popular 19.4km tongariro alpine crossing through the stark volcanic terrain of new zealand’s oldest national park. with three highly active volcanos in the area (the most recent eruption in 2012) there is a large amount of minerals in the rocks and ashy soil as we cross through two craters but sadly no molten lava this time...one of WK’s life dreams to see! several fumaroles along the route emit steam and sulphur dioxide into the air deeply coloring the water of the nearby emerald lakes adding to the scenery. ranking as one of the country’s best day hikes, which isn’t surprising given the impressive landscape and accessibility, but it brought out all sorts of hikers, quite a few with open umbrellas on a gorgeously sunny day - interesting strategy to sun protection!

The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely, or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature, and God. Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be... -Anne Frank —
