guess whohoho passed their assessment??? seems that my christmas present arrived a bit early this year bc honestly these past few months i’ve been a MESS and don’t deserve it one bit. i also might’ve (internally) shed a tear or two bc of the feedback that i received and just how generally kind my tutor is. #soft art students am i right?
anyways, are y’all done with school yet? who needs some good luck/praying/miracle dust to pass their exams??

The Sechura Desert in Peru was my first experience being surrounded by nothing but sand, rock, and the ocean. The extreme aridity is caused by the upwelling of cold coastal waters and subtropical atmospheric subsidence. It honestly felt like another planet. This image is a view I'd gaze at multiple times every day, as I jogged up the point to one of the longest waves there is. You can see the path at the bottom of the frame. It was always quite eerie because of the stench of rotting seals. But, I'd forget about that as soon as I looked at the ocean, seeing waves peel for what seemed like eternity.

This sunset was fairly simple, it did not look like Armageddon was on the horizon and was not colored like the sky was burning down. However, I was so attracted to it and couldn’t figure out why at the time but I think it’s because of the soft colors that remind me of a painting. I’ve seen old paintings hanging in museums with this exact color palette brushed across the canvas. I love the way that art has the ability to transcend reality, giving us a platform to create whatever our imagination sees fit. But it is also nice to focus on exactly what is given to us at the time, and allow its beauty to sink in no matter what our imagination is capable of.

This time last week, I was in the absolutely breathtaking city of Seville, where orange trees casually line the streets. Seville was everything I'd imagined Spain to be - the architecture, amazing food, flamenco dancers in the Plaza de España. Absolutely stunning. And it made me realize that I've been living in Spain since September and I've only (really) left Madrid TWICE - once for Seville, and once for Segovia. I know Spain has so much to offer, and I really need to get out and explore it more. Galicia, Valencia, Barcelona, Córdoba... Friends, if you know anything about Spain, please, give me recommendations. Where should I go next?
