I’m just a mom that decided to start taking care of herself for once!.

I was tired of crashing on my couch every single afternoon after work, I was tired of not having energy and relying on 4 cups of coffee to help me get through my days, I was tired of not being able to play with my kids, I was tired of binge-eating all the time, I was tired of the yo-yo dieting, I was tired of feeling helpless and unhappy, I was tired of looking in the mirror and not liking my reflection, I was tired of watching too much TV and living a sedentary life. And I was tired of making excuses.

Losing weight and keeping it off is not easy and there are many ups and downs along the way. But feeling like I felt before, with depression and anxiety and feeling like I was not in control of my life is so much harder. .
You might see my posts and say “There she goes again posting another workout.” Lol! 🤣 I workout to fight depression, stress, anxiety. I fight for both my physical and my mental health. I fight so I can be there for my kids and for my family. I fight for me!! And it’s a fight I’m willing to keep fighting. It’s not always easy, but it is always worth it!.

Sometimes when least expected, you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror (in my case, as I’m getting ready to take a shower), and what you see takes you by surprise. What I saw just now are little changes in my body that acknowledges the hours I’ve been investing in conditioning my body, making it more pliable and stronger. What I don’t see, but I now know, is that I can do 10 continuous full push ups when I couldn’t even do 3 from the knees prior to the start of this journey. So just because I’m not as toned as some people out there, doesn’t mean I’m not making progress. Everyone is starting from a different point. For me, it’s about making the most out of the journey, and ultimately changing the way I’ve been neglecting my body. Since this isn’t about weight loss, there’s no real “end goal” when I reach a certain weight on the scale. There’s just the end goal of a healthier body from a healthier lifestyle.

The picture on the left was taken in BC. As you can probably grasp from the picture I was tired all of the time, overweight, unhappy with my body and had a horrible mindset. .........
So what was I doing wrong?? 🤔

First of all I found a tribe of women who support me. I found workouts that I ENJOY doing and don't have to go anywhere for (convenient and quick). I learned that reading personal development isn't just for people who need help, its for EVERYONE!! I have found a healthy relationship with food (not on a diet!!) AND a nutritional supplement to fuel my body with all natural dense nutrition. 🥗 .........
I had NO idea that when I said yes a little under a year ago, that it would change my life and change the lives of those around me as I continue to pay it forward 💕

My favourite part is helping others see their potential and crush there goals while building this amazing business! 👊

YOU have that potential! YOU just have to find it and stop saying I can't when actually you can if you want to!! 💃

Two napping kids and now it is time for ME! Filling up my own cup doesn't come naturally for me, I have to make a conscious effort to do it - daily. Yes, I said daily. I used to always feel guilty if I took time to myself.
As a Mom, shouldn't I just want to be around my kids all day and care for their every need?

No. I mean, I do want to take care of all of their needs and spend all my time with them. But, I need to make sure that I hold onto a little piece of ME too. Does that make me a bad mom? I don't think so... I am Tom's wife.
I am Ben's Mom.
I am Mason's Mom.

Those are my favorite roles.

But, I also am Jess. I have things that I love too.
I love watching Ellen each day. I am so proud of the business I have built. I love learning new things and reading books. I am obsessed with having my nails painted. I am secretly obsessed with Lifetime Movies and love reality tv. A glass of wine in a hot bath is my idea of unwinding. I strangely love grocery shopping and people watching. And anytime I am in my car, I blast gansta rap like I am 16 again.
In order to make sure I can show up as the best wife to my husband and the best mom to my kids, I have to make sure I hold onto the things I love too.
Mamas, make sure you take care of you. There is so many things that make you YOU and it doesn't make you a bad wife or mom to make time for those things.

Today's happiness goes to actually finish all my tasks for once. That never happens 😂
I think this way of accountability works for me so I'll probably do this more often, that's how I get things done! 💪
