Following the new routine from #muscleforlifefitness for focusing on triceps today was triceps workout A. Which consisted of triceps dips, triceps presses and skullcrushers. A lot of these are new so PRs are not a big deal to me right now. Still working on finding my upper limits which i did with the triceps press at 70 for 8 reps. I had done skullcrushers before but my max was 5 reps at 80 lbs so i should have gone lower. Bottomed out on the last set at 50lbs for 8 reps. My triceps are still feeling it.
Workout:
Triceps dip: 4 warmup sets then 3 working sets of 4-6 reps (swipe for pic) i have a dip belt and added more weight each set, still looking for my 4 rep.

Triceps press:
Set 1 - 10 reps at 50
Set 2 - 10 reps at 60
Set 3 - 8 reps at 70

The last set (in the video) my grip wasn't quite right.
Skullcrusher:
Set 1 - 7 reps at 70
Set 2 - 6 reps at 70
Set 3 - 8 reps at 50

Definitely different doing things in the 8 to 10 rep range but definitely feeling it.

What’s the smallest, fastest piece of advice you can give somebody who’s just approaching the bench press, when you don’t really have the time to explain all the cues he’d need to keep in mind? -
✅Simply tell him: “push yourself away from the bar”. -
What does that even mean? Well, as you can see from the drawing, when you’re pushing yourself away from the bar rather than just pushing the bar up, you’re keeping your shoulderblades tucked back together: this alone creates a strong upper back base from where force is generated and pushed up. -
The upper back is tight & the chest is pushed out as a response, which equals to a strong & safe set up, especially for the shoulders, which don’t rotate forward & then potentially cause tendons to get pinched.
Will he also arch his back without telling him? I don’t think so, but chances are he will (atleast to a degree) through that advice. ✅

❌ Just pushing the weight up doesn’t really help much. This because people will want to push it all the way up and in 99.9% of the cases, they’ll lose their upper back tightness aswell, losing their scapulas adduction, therefore making their shoulders rotate forward and cause the nerves to get pinched without that much chest activation at all. ❌

This is a stressful time of year for many.
What do you do to relieve stress?
Most people will go for the comfort food.
Here we have a negative cause w/ a short term positive feeling (mentally satisfied) and a long term negative gain (poor quality calories and excessive calories leads to fat increase).
Others will utilize a workout to relieve stress.
In that case we have a negative cause being handled by a negative/positive feeling (depends if you like working out) and long term positive gain.
By looking at this example, I hope you reassess how you handle stress.
Working out is good for stress.
Eating cake and ice cream is bad for stress.
You're going to try to convince yourself that I'm wrong because you will do what you want to do anyway.
But when you get in worse shape and start having health issues, you'll remember this post.
