Wir erklären was, wie und warum genau diese Mahleit eine super Möglichkeit ist, um bessere Fortschritte im Training zu erzielen, besser zu regenerieren, sich fitter zu fühlen, mehr Gainz zu machen oder auch einfach viel besser zu schlafen 🙋‍♂️💪. Also, mein geliebtes Porridge, zelebriere ich am Abend in genau dem Kontext, weil: 💡Carbs am Abend treiben eure Regeneration fürs nächste Training mächtig voran. 💡Dadurch habt ihr einen viel tieferen und besseren Schlaf. 💡Es ist nicht unnötig viel Gemüse, was schwer verdaulich und blähend im Bauch liegt und eure Verdauung vor dem Schlafen gehen belastet. 💡Das Fett (von Leinsamen, Nussbutter, ...) lässt euch nachts besser durchschlafen. Nachts werden die Carbs aufgespalten und eure Glykogenspeicher gefüllt. Aber selbst von Haferflocken dauert der Prozess nicht die gesamte Nacht. Keine Carbs mehr zum Regenerieren --》 Cortisol als Stresshormon wird ausgeschüttet --》 ihr wacht auf! Raisin’ the bar on my health has me thinking outside of the box when it comes to nutrition, literally getting rid of boxed, packaged and processed food altogether.

Happy #FoodieFriday 😋 PROTEIN POWER BITES! I’m always on the lookout for quick, on-the-go, protein snacks to enjoy after my workouts, and today I have a new one for you to try.

It’s important to fuel tired muscles and refill energy stores after exercise, sure there are plenty of protein bars on the market, but making your own protein snacks using wholesome ingredients will help keep you on track with your nutrition and increase fat burn.

Whip up a batch of these tasty morsels to power you through the coming week…

Servings: 30

Here’s what you need

½ cup natural peanut butter or almond butter
2 Tablespoons coconut palm sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup flaxseed meal
⅓ cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1 tablespoon Lily’s stevia-sweetened dark chocolate chips
¼ cup rolled oats
½ cup protein powder of choice
¼ cup coconut milk
Instructions

Combine all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Mix until fully combined. Chill in the fridge for 15 minutes.
Form the chilled dough into 30 balls. Store in the freezer, then pack in ziplock bags for on-the-go power snacking. Enjoy!

ROASTED SWEET POTATO QUINOA SALAD⠀

Ingredients:⠀

Salad:⠀
2 cups water⠀
1 cup quinoa, rinsed⠀
2 sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed⠀
2 tablespoons olive oil⠀
1 cup chopped broccoli⠀
1 yellow bell pepper, diced⠀
1 red bell pepper, diced⠀
1/2 cucumber - peeled, seeded, and chopped⠀

Dressing:⠀
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil⠀
2 tablespoons maple syrup⠀
1/2 lemon, juiced⠀
1/2 lime, juiced⠀
salt and ground black pepper to taste⠀
1/2 cup chopped cilantro⠀

Directions:⠀
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).⠀
2. Bring water and quinoa to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until quinoa is tender, 15 to 20 minutes. Set aside to cool.⠀
3. Toss sweet potatoes in olive oil on a baking sheet.⠀
4. Roast in the preheated oven until tender, 20 to 25 minutes. Set aside to cool.⠀
5. Mix broccoli, yellow pepper, red pepper, and cucumber in a large bowl; stir in quinoa and sweet potatoes.⠀
6. Whisk extra-virgin olive oil, maple syrup, lemon juice, lime juice, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Mix dressing into salad; garnish with cilantro.⠀
