While teaching a yoga class today that included the concept of impermanence (that all things arise, abide and dissolve) a rainbow 🌈 appeared outside. We all had to pause and soak it in.....

I will be forever grateful to Karrina for being kind enough to let us keep this babygirl. She’s brought me so much happiness and her goofy demeanor makes her all that much more special. I’m taking this time to spend as much time as possible with her, because my journey forward may cause us to part ways (I couldn’t pull her away from her best friend Karma.) This isn’t really a post about a dog though, it’s a post about life, some people and things are not always meant to be a part of your life long term, you can waste your time and energy holding onto temporary things and you will be the only one who suffers, and you will deny yourself the opportunity to move onto something better, or even worse, you can drag someone new down with your burdens. If you’re holding onto anything from your past, today can be the day you choose to let go, it can be the day that you start anew, it can be the day that you choose to look around at what you have or who you have and love the fucking hell out of them because there is no guarantees they will be around forever. Time spent in anger, resent and lust is wasted time that could be spent in happiness and positivity and love. #staypresent #lovepresent #embracechaos #impermanence

“We need to learn to see our physical form as a river. Our body is not a static thing—it changes all the time. It is very important to see our physical form as something impermanent, as a river that is constantly changing. Every cell in our body is a drop of water in that river. Birth and death are happening continuously, in every moment of our daily lives. We should train ourselves in this vision of impermanence.” - Thich Nhat Hanh | Let go of the expectation that you will feel or look any consistent way and learn instead that we are evolving and organic beings and bodies whose needs and perceptions shift. I find solace in the impermanence as that means birth and newness will come from something that dies- an emotion dies, a belief dies, and we can get stronger. All we really have is this present moment. 😘 xo

TRANSFORMATION SKULL BRACELET, from our Impermanence Bracelet Collection, it's a powerful Amulet of Transformation and Changing, a reminder of the Impermanence of everything in life.
Skulls have a good and powerful meaning we are fascinated by and we love to share it.
As a symbol, skull is very ancient and it carries deep meanings; it has been found in many cultures: for Buddhism skull reminds us the impermanence of everything in the world; for Maya culture it represents death as transformation, changing, which means the ability to put and end to something we don't like in our life.

Captains log....up early with a headache and upset stomach feeling restless over my unfinished business. Taking a minute now to calm myself and stumbled on the realization that even in a space of joy and beauty and awe - even on my best days - I'm often waiting for the other shoe to drop. It's a habit I learned from my ancestors probably. Be prepared for anything. Nothing is certain. Everything changes. Happiness is not guaranteed. So I have a choice. I can wait with dread or I can wait in abiding peace.

Then a certain monk went to the Blessed One and, on arrival, having bowed down to him, sat to one side. As he was sitting there he said to the Blessed One, "'One who dwells in the Dhamma, one who dwells in the Dhamma': thus it is said, lord. To what extent is a bhikkhu one who dwells in the Dhamma?"

✨🌀 Spirals are one of my favorite symbols. To me they represent that change is the only constant and everything is impermanent. ✨

Meaning if I am really loving a situation, I try not to grasp or attach to it because it will inevitably change. If something is very challenging, I try to let go and settle into the fact that this too shall pass. ✨🌀✨ There are so many symbols out there that can be supportive to us. What are some of y’alls favorite symbols that support or inspire you?

Gratitude journal
I am grateful for this journey I am on.
I thank the struggles that accompany the successes. I welcome the lessons yet to be learned and the reminders of ones I have forgotten.
.
I have not felt well the last 4 or 5 days. For me, it is part of my cycle and as I get older I am learning to deal with it. During this time it can become very easy to succumb to the feelings of lethargy, nausea, pain and sadness. It takes an amount of effort to overcome.
.
The practice:
Recognizing that from one day to the next I will experience this life differently. That my mind and body may be in two different places at once. It is by being quiet and still with myself that I can bring a sense of calm to my system and get mind and body more in sync. It is a practice of self-compassion. To not beat myself up about staying in bed, missing workouts and just allowing myself to feel shitty. This too is ok and it will pass. It is a practice of impermanence.

If you realise that all things change, there is nothing you will try to hold on to!

.
There are certain moments, experiences or episodes which results in shaking up your entire belief system. ‘Belief’ in itself is a very beautiful story (will keep it for later!)
So, recently, I have begun my journey on to the road of impermanence. (at least that’s what I think! 🤔)
Yes, Unlearning is going to take a lot of time, there are times when I forget or ignore the guiding light ....but the idea is to keep moving. I feel so proud of the small capabilities in and around 😊.
More later....

Do share your insights, in case you are also in the process of mending your path :)
