Chest day! I like to hit high rep flys after some heavy bench to stretch the chest out. I try to focus on the eccentric part of the contraction while getting a nice squeeze on each rep 👍

Find your pelvic neutral↔️. Tip your pelvis as far forward as you can (arch your back), then tuck it under as far as you can (round your back). Now stop half way in between. This should be about neutral. Stay in neutral☑️. Now when you start to bend over think of your body like a door🚪. The door opens but the only thing that moves is the hinge. The door itself isn’t bending. Apply this idea to your body🕴️. Your lower body doesn’t need to move, and your upper body and spine don’t need to move. Only the ball🎾 and socket of your hip joint need to move. Those are your body’s hinges. .

Before anyone jumps in with the “So I should move like a robot?!” comments🛑… it’s fine to have movement in the lower spine when it’s not loaded. Being able to articulate the spine is fantastic💯. We aren’t suggesting that you NEVER do this. But when you are lifting objects, weights🏋️️‍♂️, etc, you should be using a hip hinge. There is a difference between mindful💡 articulation and mindless movement. It’s the mindless movements that compound into larger issues over time. As always body awareness is key🔑

So the last progress pic I posted was on December 5th, this was taken yesterday for #flexfriday but got self conscious and never posted it until I had some friendly encouragement.
I'm weighing less than I have in a long time at a comfy 182 with a quick cut down to 175.
Not the biggest of steps, but it's a slow game getting to where you want to be.
Thanks to @mtsnutrition for my supplements, @getnewage for protecting my teeth as well as making it possible to lift more than I ever imagained, @moxysocks for my sweet ass sock game, @mbslingshot for my heavy day knee sleeves and @sbd.usa for my comfortable sleeves, and most importantly, every member and employee at the @mtasportscenter for always giving me encouragement and being the most positive thing in my life.

Came up with this set on the spot. Start by completing 10 reps on each while hold the other dumbbell at a 90 degree angle. After completing the 10 reps on each arm hold both dumbbells at 90 degrees for 20 secs. After complete a half curl and hold again for 10 seconds. Complete another curls and then hold for 5 seconds. Finally do the same thing and then only hold for three.

Not waiting for a squat rack to open up is awesome. I'm slowly working on increasing my strength and power. Next step is to work on my conditioning and endurance by going back to swinging kettlebells, and something I haven't done in years, running. That last one will be my least favorite activity. #squats #strength #lifting
