Grandma aka Sid ....how ‘bout “Cleo” for Cleopatra? Cindy, the practice mgr at Daisy Mtn Vet suggested this after meeting her this morning. I think it’s perfect- because this senior will be treated like royalty for the rest of her life.
She went to do errands this morning and certainly enjoyed riding shotgun!
OUT OF SURGERY AND WAKING UP!
Spencer’s breathing will be monitored since he doesn’t have much airflow through those crooked nasal passages, and he’ll remain in the office for another 2-3 hours.
Tonight, I will need to make sure his breathing isn’t rapid, which could indicate that he could have developed some congestive heart failure (He has been on cardiac medications for the last month).
Spencer news briefs have taken over the CCR FB page today.....but those who have met and love this amazing little guy will understand! *If you would like to contribute to Spencer’s veterinary expenses:

Spencer had a visit this evening with one of his favorite people, Stella.
She wanted to come visit him when she heard he is going to have surgery to remove his left eye tomorrow. The ulcer is so deep that it cannot be treated and the eye now has the risk of rupturing. Such a deep ulcer is incredibly painful, and since Spencer is otherwise physically / mentally stable, surgery is the only reasonable option.
Yes, anesthesia is a definite risk for such an old dog, but Kirstin will use her special combo of agents for seniors and he will be closely monitored.
Please send Spencer some positive thoughts and pray for him tomorrow. His case is an urgent add-on, so I am not sure what time it will be started.
Spencer knows he has a lot of fans out there- even as far as Newfoundland, Canada!!! This will be a source of strength for both of us! *If you would like to contribute to Spencer’s veterinary expenses:

Spencer has a re-evaluation tomorrow, Tuesday, at our vet’s office.
Spencer’s eye ulcer has gotten worse and he may have lost a little more weight.
Will post another update after his evaluation.
As always, donations are always needed so we can provide the proper medical care for our rescues. See the link in bio to donate today and help Spencer!
