JUMPING INTO THE WEEK WITH A SMILE 🤸‍♀️🤗 Excited to be part of a few great charity events this December, starting with @sports_philosophy #WinterWellness day on Saturday 2nd where I'll be teaching a barre class at @42acresretreat Shoreditch to fundraise for @freedom_for_children who fight child labour across the globe and are working on a special project to fund a school bus in Myanmar 🚌

I've also just realised tickets for the next #BarreBodyLondon class fundraising for #MentalHealthUK which will take place at @methodmovement on Sunday 10th. Super excited to have @po_ten_cy's delicious and nutritious energy-boosting balls as a post-workout treat, alongside a great goody bags from our wondering supporting brands including @lolasapothecary @ombarchocolate @bravefoods @sports_philosophy @elsasorganics and many more! 👯

“Anxiety”
Anxiety can change your life. It can get so bad that you can't do things that you use to be able to do, you become afraid of things that you once loved, and it can make you never want to leave the house again and just wither away until you meet your bitter end.

Day 16: Saturday 18th Nov 2017
Today was epic! We got to my brothers house around 9am to put the turkey in the oven, then we got everything else ready for thanksgiving. Family started pouring in and soon we had the whole zoo haha. I wish I had taken more pics of all the madness but I was so busy.
Our family has a tradition for thanksgiving, we each get a piece of paper and write down the things we are thankful for. Then we place them in a cornucopia or box and draw them out and read them. It’s always an emotional experience as we take time to reflect on the year that has been. There are always a few tears and lots of laughing. The one that got me the most was when one of my sister in laws said she was thankful to still be apart of the family. Her and my brother had a trial separation at the start of the year and it was looking like it would end in divorce after 20 years together.
Taking time to remember what we are thankful for can help us see things from a new perspective. A better perspective. 😄👌. Later on some of the family went to see the new JLA movie but I was legit too smashed. I went home and went to bed haha.

Would you really know the first one was edited if every photo was edited the same, if they were made to look natural.... No you wouldn't. This is what's wrong with social media and influencing people, especially younger girls. This took all of 30 seconds on my phone. Being a semi pro in Photoshop I know what can be done with around 30 minutes and the right equipment. Don't let yourself become brainwashed with what's out there, it may not be real. .

Enjoy the daily commute 🚊
Commuting to work can often be the most stressful part of your day but it doesn’t need to be. Change the way you view your commute by using it to meditate.

Take a deep breath as you leave your house and count your steps as you walk - breathing in for 6 steps and out for 6 steps. Now begin to observe what’s around you and gently in your head name what you can see - red bus, blue sky, brown trees, dog barking etc.
If your next mode of transport is a packed train or bus, place your hand on your belly and imagine there is a balloon going up and down - this will help calm you down. Notice the people around you and again play a script in your head of what you can see - man reading book, blue jumper, girl looking at phone, red leather shoes etc.

Softly observe the people around you and think to yourself ‘I wonder how they’re feeling today?’ It’s good for your mental health to think about how others are feeling - even if you don’t know them.

By focusing on your breath and observing what’s around you, you’re anchoring yourself in the present moment - calming and grounding yourself as you travel ✌🏻

This passage from @elizabeth_gilbert_writer 's book, Big Magic, reinforces my commitment to writing. I've been taking it more seriously. Giving it due time everyday. I'm learning that I'm a better person when I create and suffer words to pages. If I get my 500-700 words every day it's like my caffeine. I'm happier, lighter on my feet, and give love so freely to my family.
I recognize when I do not do any writing, that's when I'm at my worst. Just Moody, snappy, unforgiving, and impatient. Sometimes it takes me a minute-then I realize - I haven't written. I need to write. It's imperative to my mental health. 💗

Breathing exercises are effective in reducing depressive symptoms, according to one study. You may find yoga helpful as the exercise focuses on deep, controlled breathing.

As exercise, yoga is a natural way to increase serotonin production. According to the Journal of Psychiatry and Neuroscience, serotonin production plays a role in the treatment of depression.
