I do.
Ever feel like you’re doing everything right and still not getting results you want?

Yep, that too.
After surgery last year I had all of these expectations in my head of how perfect my workouts were going to be, how much muscle I would put on, how I would maintain a low body fat percentage and have great muscle tone... Everything I listed above has been a huge flop...is it because I haven’t tried? No. Because I gave up? No

It’s this lovely little thing called hormone that are far out of my control.
Over the course of 6 weeks during the spring I gained 15 lbs! I knew then something wasn’t right and went to my doc and sure enough, my meds weren’t working anymore! At that point I could’ve given up or quit, but I still didn’t. They still aren’t right and losing weight is still next to impossible for me. I have been angry and tears have been shed over the sheer frustration of it all.
But you know what? I feel better when I work out. My jeans are fitting a little better. Whether it “shows” or not, I know I’ve put in some killer workouts, am eating much better, and am still able to help others do the same.
If you’re struggling, don’t give up and give in.
Keep going.
Keep struggling.
Keep pushing.
Keep working.
It is worth it.
YOU are worth it.

Didn't make it quite two hours (1hour and 48 minutes). Not too bad considering I haven't properly worked out in two weeks! Still hitting my goals and making gains (I add 5 to 10lbs every week and increase reps by 1-2) so I can't complain. I'm FINALLY starting to see some definition in my triceps and forearms. Had an amazing time at the #nightofchampions the night did not bring the results I was hoping for but the results I earned and I’m thrilled with the transformation I had. A word of warning to the weights that I’m about to lift: be afraid...be very afraid!!!! Liquid armor going down as I prepare for battle!!!!! 💪🏼🏋🏻‍♀️ Each day I put on armor - not the clangy, heavy stuff like the Knights used to wear. I’m talking Ephesians 6:10 armor. The world we live in is HARRRRDDDD - full of all kinds of bad stuff. And we can’t coast through life living under a rock and hoping the bad guys don’t find us. The “bad guys” are constantly finding ways to attack us - they’re sneaky and will stop at nothing. WE HAVE TO STAND UP AND FIGHT. And it starts by arming yourself for battle. .

Getting my mind right with quiet time each morning is one way I equip myself for the day’s battle. Being physically equipped is another way. I go through spurts where I workout hard and then times when “life” (AKA the bad guys) get the better of me and I don’t workout at all. I notice that difference - I’m more irritable, more tired, not at my best mentally and I’m full of excuses. Totally not the best Wife or Mom that I could be. Ever feel that way?!?!

Accountability is where it’s at. I’m so thankful for my husband who gives me a gentle reminder to get back on track. Totally not in a “you need to workout” finger wagging way. He loves me for where I am no matter what. But we have each other’s backs and know when and how to help steer the other back on track in all areas of life. I appreciate him more than words can express! He shares his journey with me and reminds me of my greatness! He encourages me to be the best version of me but also loves me when I fall short.

A year ago today I was able to hit 165lbs for 5 on deadlifts. Today I started with my last PR of 205lbs. Then moved up to 225lbs and then hit a new PR of 240lbs! Pretty pumped!! Still light weight to most people but I am damn proud of how I did. Then I had deficit deadlifts at 190lbs for 2. Thanks again to my coach and lover @kj.cain .
