Why the f#ck would u do this u ask?
Well because it’s a fantastic pace to train from for variety sake as well as having a host of other benefits.
Benefits that include core activation as well as the critical β€œhip flexor” stretching that needs so much attention due to excessive sitting that destroys your posture. And f’s up your body.
Multiple exercises can be performed from the 90/90.
It’s versatile.
It’s beneficial to train while injured.
It improves posture and core strength.
And it makes it look like you know what the hell your doing in a gym.

A couple bands and some attachments and your good!
Bands are great on the go (also in the gym). But they work great if your outside and don't have access to equipment. All u need is an attachment place. Alright u don't necessarily need that either.
But... They provide a unique resistance as they have varying intensity throughout a movement creating the most intensity towards the "squeeze" portion of a lift.
Don't sleep on them. They are great for muscle building as well as very joint friendly. For a banged up ex-football player like me that's a great combo!

1/2 Kneeling Rotational MB Push Pass

Whoa! That's a mouthful!
But... A lot of good stuff going on here. - Upper body push power
- stretch the back hip flexor
- stabilize the hips and core - rotational power - upper back rotational movement - scapular mobility / shoulder health - core and oblique work **must make sure back knee and hip are in a vertical alignment and core/hips stay stable while you rotate on top of that stability **also keep the push elbow high bc if u drop it now your just throwing and throwing several pounds is prob not a good idea. Keep the elbow high so u can push and protect the shoulder
8-12 each side for 2-4 sets should do it

One of my favorite rowing variations the Seated Cable Row!
Some people may shy away due to low back concerns. If I could provide a tip I would say this... Bracing! Or... using breathing to brace your low back. So you should be breathing deep into your core almost feeling like your forming an internal "weight belt" around your waist.
Every rep in "weight training" should have an in breath and an out breath. The "in-breath" is most valuable as a tool to brace your low back at the point of most "danger" or "loading". In this case it is when the weight is moving away from the body. This is the point of most danger and when the most bracing is required.
So... Out breath on the pull.
In breath on before the weight goes away from you. **And especially using breath bracing as a tool right before picking up the weight or right before putting it down. This is where most people would be likely to hurt themselves.
Try this out!
You will quickly see how timing your breathing forms a stronger back / weight belt and resistance against the forces. You will feel stronger and safer!

Messing around with this push/pull (punch) action on my lateral bends.
Probably wouldn't do this action without doing this. The push/pull action really tied the whole move together and helps the obliques and core work in more natural manner during this side bend.
The rotation also helps take pressure directly off the spine as you side bend. Focusing on pulling the top shoulder blade back like a row at the top of the move. Get that great squeeze at the top!

I like to program a lot of "Posterior Chain" dominant exercises. Most athletes need more work towards the back of the body to balance the forces of gravity and training choices (like excessive chest and quad work). So mine and most of my clients workouts are dominated by a lot of exercises that focus toward the back of the body.
