Granite Window, Sequoia National Park, 2017

I first came across this scene on the previous day which was also overcast but the light was falling more direct on the rocks making the scene appear entirely flat. I returned a day later when I thought the angle of light, even though still from a soft overcast sky, would give more dimension to the sections of granite. The dimension that the shadows create juxtaposed with the flat area of green is what makes the image for me. I shot this on my Pentax 6x7 with the Pentax 105mm f/4 on Kodak Ektar 100.
