My friend and I @latin_alvarez decided we would do the Murph! It's an amazing routine in memory of a fallen navy seal. I didn't think it was going to be so intense but I gave it my All and I even puked at the end 😎💪 that's called effort, where is your intestinal fortitude!? Also this is supposed to be done with a weighted vest, but we will be doing this routine again shortly with the vest included. 🤷‍♀️Honestly, I don’t do much isolating core work, mostly everything I do for core is also working other muscle groups😼✊🏼Aesthetically & strength wise my core used to be my biggest weakness: BUT to become better, we work to turn our WEAKNESSES INTO STRENGTHS🔥💪🏼👌🏼

☝🏼I’ve gotten questions asking how I built up to doing these L-Sit Pull-ups (still a work in progress y’all) that I just started doing a few weeks ago:

🤜🏼My answer: PRACTICE!
I’d already been working on my hanging leg lifts & crunches consistently so adding the static hold & working on form, ensuring my core is doing the work NOT my hip flexors🤚🏼(This also protects your LB👌🏼Start with less ROM & work your way up!
💪🏼3 weeks ago I could only do 2 L-sit pull-up reps in 1 session; Last night: repped out 10 SETS, 6 reps per set AND in between overhead squats... PRACTICE MAKES PROGRESS!!!

☝🏼YOUR BREATHING is 🔑
(Well at least it’s helped me) Working on keeping everything under tension, core right, exhales should allow you to keep that tension as you breath (DO NOT STOP BREATHING) The thing I see the most is people doing abs & not breathing!😱🤢QUICK EXHALES, think exhale every rep👊🏼

🤘🏼STAY IN CONTROL!
I see people flailing their legs around, swinging their legs up by arching their backs & getting momentum: Start slow, if your legs aren’t all the way straight, it’s cool just practice, for some things mine still aren’t completely straight, but as I practice, this has improved👍🏼
👉🏼A few reps done with CONTROL are better than 20 reps without it👊🏼

🙌🏼If you haven’t done hanging ab work, I encourage you to try it! Game changer forsure!
