Yesterday someone told me that Julie needs to be responsible for Julie. Oh boy and don’t I know it. Holding yourself up in America today is such a challenge. Years ago, the military made the middle class. There were enough jobs to go around that pay enough to allow the average 18 year old man to move out and support a family. Those jobs are gone. So we all lived with this idea that children should be out of the house at 18. That’s not a possibility anymore. We look more like most countries where people live at home until they are 30 or older or wait til they marry. I have several friends who work 3-5 jobs and live with a roommate. Why is it so hard to be your own person in today’s world. Why don’t we have the tools to be free? Holding myself up looks like keeping a job and making sure I do all of the things to keep healthy; sleeping, eating, meditation, and yoga. As my health care is ending in a few months I find myself wondering if I’ll be able to afford these things on my own and it scares me. Let’s not even think about if I was the type of person that wanted children. That would be absolutely impossible. There are people I went to high school with who are on their second child. LIKE WE ALL DID A PROJECT IN HIGH SCHOOL THAT SHOWED IT WOULD COST 160000 in the first year of having kids. People are just out there making that kind of money? If It sounds like I’m bitter, I apologize for that’s not what I mean. I just honestly don’t understand how y’all do it.

Saturday Success 🙌🏼 A trip out on a Saturday can keep me going all week. And this one’s been emotional.

Sitting down and trying to write for the site has been a nightmare cocktail of brain fog, muscular pain and insomnia.
If I were looking after someone else in pain, there’s no way I would tell them that they weren’t eating again, taking a break or quitting until they had finished... so why do I do this to myself?

It isn’t anymore productive. It doesn’t make be feel happy, relaxed or proud of my achievements.
Mid-week I realised what I was doing (mid sorry sob), let up myself and focused on what I want to do for ME this week.

I ordered a box of lovely lush goodies, and planned a weekend of fulfilment.

Last night me and T went to see my osteopath for some pin-time and got cosy in front of a film. And today we went for a drive, visited @firestationcoffee for a colourful and relaxed vegan lunch (we had olive tapenade and roasted veg toasties with sweet potato, cumin & sultana and and raw broccoli, tahini, & pumpkin seed salads) AND picked up some new plants and fishes for the aquarium!! This is not a small day out. These are the highlights of my life.
Now into the bath and some Yoga pants... For a lay down.

I'm lucky if I have the energy to make it to the gym 4 days a week at this point balancing work and school. As of now, just being patient with my progression. Compound lifting has been averaging once a week for each of my lifts. And the other days are accessories. Haven't been so obsessed with the scale or hitting a certain number. As unoriginal as this sounds, I've just been focused on how I feel, which is content with sexy 😏. Approaching 1 yr sober, 1yr with better decisions. Life is perfectly imperfect. I still carry resentments, can be crude, hyper judgmental, irritable, restless. But now I can deal with and learn from that part of myself. Introspection is a life long journey, my goal is progress not perfection. .

Shake me and I rattle.

I can’t remember where I heard this but it’s been my go to remark whenever anyone brings up medication for years. It cuts the tension and brings a laugh (or at least a titter) to a conversation that has often very fiercely opposing sides.
I have never been quiet about taking meds, I don’t find it embarrassing at all, they make me well & I’ve had a lot of experience with talking therapies (CBT, DBT, Mindfulness etc) so I know that I am dependent on them to live the life I lead now. However bad it is, it would be a LOT worse if I didn’t take them every day. But because I am so open about it I have been party to quite a few heated conversations about how the world is becoming reliant on anti-depressants rather than actually dealing with their problems. I initially wrote a huge rant about the abuse I’ve suffered from people who think that a cup of tea is going to fix suicidal thoughts (this was from the Emergency Crisis Team), but I’ve decided to split this into parts. First I want to write why I/we get put on medication to begin with so it involves a few numbers.

I initially got put on Fluoxetine by my GP as a temporary measure to treat depression that came about at the beginning of University. It was thought it was due to the change in environment, but it continued and it worsened and it I upped dosage & change meds & so on. If I hadn’t got worse, I would never have seen any psychiatrist or mental health nurse. There isn’t the ability in the UK for everyone who has a mental health issue to see someone with psychiatry or psychological training, the majority are seen by their GP’s. Even though I eventually got so bad I took several overdoses and was hospitalised, I hit the jackpot if I saw my psychiatrist or my mental health nurse rather than the duty worker within the week, it’d be because of a cancellation if I did. The waiting lists for specialists are long and courses aren’t held very often. Talking/cognitive therapy isn’t readily available, compared to many others I have had it lucky, especially as I come under the only MH Trust that’s gone into special measures (deemed the lowest of the low) (cont. below)

Fluffy vegan pancakes😍🥞
Ok, how can I not have pancake stacks this morning??? Even though I might have strep or the flu, pancakes always makes things better(AND VEGGIE BURRITOS)😅
So you should make these RIGHT AWAY!!!! seriously. these are fluffy, tasty and just the best OG healthy, vegan plain pancakes. Toppings vary😉😉 Fluffy vegan pancakes: -1 cup almond milk
-1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-1 cup all purpose flour or whole wheat. (I USED HALF/HALF FOR BOTH KINDS OF FLOURS)
-1 tbsp + 1 tsp baking powder
-1/2 tsp salt
-3 tbsp coconut sugar or cane sugar

Directions:
-Preheat griddle and grease with coconut oil. (I used “non-dairy” butter)
-Whisk almond milk, vinegar, vanilla in medium bowl
-In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar
-Then, add wet ingredients to dry ingredients

Good evening! Wie sollte man sich eigentlich nach jahrelanger Anorexie ernähren? (Meine Meinung!):

Ich sehe so oft, wie nach langem Hungern nur Junk Food gegessen wird. Das ist auch verständlich. Wenn man sich endlich wieder erlauben kann zu essen, will man am liebsten gleich alles ausprobieren, was man seit 1,2 oder 10 Jahren nicht essen ,,durfte". Aber doch sollte die körperliche Gesundheit neben den psychischen Aspekten nicht vernachlässigt werden. Die Blutwerte werden wahrscheinlich katastrophal sein. Der Körper schreit nach Nährstoffen. -
Für mich treffen schon sehr lange folgende 2 Sprüche auf mein Ganzes Leben zu: ,,Balance is the Key" oder ,,Die Menge macht das Gift". Daher:
Nichts sollte komplett aus dem Speißeplan gestrichen werden, und nichts übertrieben viel verzehrt werden. Eben Ausgewogen. Ein MITTELMAß finden!

Täglich viel Gemüse: Vor allem grünes fasriges Gemüse wie Brokkoli, Spinat, Kohl, Mangold, Feldsalat, Chicorée, usw. Wer kein Bock auf Gemüse hat, der soll halt eher sowas wie: Kürbis, Süßkartoffel, Mais, Rote Beete, Bohnen, usw essen. Das Zeug schmeckt noch hundertausend mal besser wie Spinat haha.

Viele Omega 3 fetthaltige Lebensmittel: Nüsse, fetter Fisch, Leinsamen, Chia samen, Avocado, usw.

Hochwertige Proteine: Mageres Fleisch/Fisch, Eier, Quark, Hüttenkäse, usw. (Vegetarier und Veganer unbedingt B12 supplementieren!)

Viele Komplexe Kohlenhydrate: Haferflocken, Linsen, Kartoffeln, Vollkornprodukte, Wildreis, Amaranth, usw. -
Und wenn von allen obigen Kategorien täglich etwas gegessen wird, haben Schoki, Eis und Kekse noch guuut Platz! :D

Viele entwickeln nach der Magersucht dieses Krankhafte Verhalten, tagsüber zu hungern und sich Abends nur mit Müll vollzustopfen. Dass das nicht gut ist, weiß, denke ich, jeder. So kann man leicht ins Bulimische reinrutschen. Lasst euch nicht verunsichern von anderen. Wer Abends so viel essen ,,kann" wird wohl tagsüber extrem einsparen oder exzessiv Sport treiben. Dieser jemand hat keinen ,,tollen Stoffwechsel" oder übermenschliche Kräfte haha^^

Sucht eine Methode mit der IHR euch wohlfühlt und mit der ihr nicht wieder rückfällig. Es muss in euren Alltag passen!
