Here we are working axial rotations in abduction with a valslide. The assistance of the wall gives me enough feedback to push a little further in my end ranges. Yoga blocks are there to squeeze against. We add some lift offs to solidify what we can. Don't let the Hyperlapse fool you, spend a lot of time here and iron out the orthopedic wrinkles

BUILD MORE RESILIENT SHOULDERS

The motion of the shoulder blade is crucial for having full shoulder mobility
.
There are numerous muscles that attach the the shoulder blade both smaller stabilizer muscles and larger prime movers such as the lats and traps
.
A simple way to work on their strength is scapular work under load
.
In this example hanging from a pull up bar and trying to take the shoulder blade through it’s full motion
.
If this exercises is too challenging you can try it from a lay pull down machine or just shrugs on the bar
.
This exercise being in a hanging position also works on the rotator cuff as well
.

Took a few days off from the gym. Needed some complete body rest.

🙋‍♂️I always thought that confusing the muscle was going to lead to more muscle mass.

🙋‍♂️I thought that doing these crazy methods that give you a great pump was the key to getting bigger arms.

🙋‍♂️I always thought that if i wasn’t “shocking the muscle” i was gonna stay small forever.

👉So, shocking the muscle, muscle confusion, or whatever you want to call it is not the 🔑 to gaining more muscle mass.👈

‼️Yes, switching things up and using “intensifying methods” are helpful, but are not the most effective way to grow muscle.‼️

✅ The best and most effective way to grow muscle is through progressive overload.

⁉️What is progressive overload⁉️

➡️It is simply getting stronger over time.

Yea, this doesn’t sound “sexy” or the “cool” way to grow muscle. However, it works.

It sounds cliche, but if you aren’t getting stronger, you aren’t getting bigger.

This seems really simple, but a lot of us get confused because the fitness industry tries to complicate things.

Think about it...

I remember when i first started lifting, i stuck to the basics, like Bench Press, squats, rows, and maybe even deadlifts. I saw some good results.

Then for some odd reason i thought i had to do these crazy things in order to gain muscle.

Arnold Press 3 x 5-6 reps: Keep your elbows in close to your torso at the bottom of the movement and rotate the dumbbells as you push up!

Cable Lateral Raise 3 sets x 5-6 reps each side: Pulling the cable between your legs makes a smoother transition! .
Leaning Lateral Raise 3 sets x 5-6 reps each: Try not to use any momentum to bring the dumbbell up!

Lateral Raise Burnout 1 set x 10 reps

Incline Chest Press 3 sets x 5-6 reps
