🇵🇹 Yellow is a friendly colour and so is the vibe of #Lagos. With the sun and blue sky on a winter day, by the atlantic coast. 🏖️☀️💛

Shout out to these guys because I didn’t even notice that anyone posed until after I got my film developed. So excited for festival season 2018 and to take more pictures of these beautiful gatherings.

Since I’ve moved to the East Coast I’ve come to realize that there is no shortage of historical places and events that took place here. I recently visited Fort Macon. It’s a deserted Fort and is to the public to explore. Here’s a brief little summary..
•
During the 18th and 19th centuries the region around Beaufort was highly vulnerable to attack. Blackbeard and other pirates passed through Beaufort Inlet at will, while successive wars with Spain, France and Great Britian during the Colonial Period provided a constant threat of coastal raids by enemy warships. Beaufort was captured and plundered by the Spanish in 1747, and again by the British in 1782.
•
In the years after the War of 1812, the U.S. military constructed a chain of permanent fortifications to defend its harbors and ports against foreign invasion. One of the forts was built between 1826 and 1834 on the eastern point of Bogue Banks to guard Old Topsail Inlet. It was named in honor of Nathaniel Macon (1758-1837), a U.S. congressman, senator, and leading Republican statesman of North Carolina. @visitnc
