Time for a holiday? Returning from injury?
How long does it take to get back to full training load?
From the 2015 AIS Whitepaper, we can use this handy table to calculate how long an athlete will take to safely return to their pre-injury or pre-holiday levels, whilst avoiding a workload spike.
For example if the athlete has done 40% of their normal training for 2 weeks, it will take an additional 2.5weeks (therefore 4.5 weeks in total) to return to full training.

Neck Pain💫 {Levator Scapulae}

Kink in your neck after sleeping? Blame this dude.
.
Okay that's unfair, but for simplicity sake roll with me here.
.
The levator scap starts from your upper neck (C1-4) and attaches to the medial/vertebral border of the scap (shoulder blade)
.
🔹When the spine is fixed it acts primarily as a:
🔻scap elevator (shrug) 🔻scap rotator- often working with pec minor/rhomboids to make this happen.
.
🔹When the shoulder is fixed it will help with:
🔻neck lateral bending
.
This muscle is part of the anatomical location called "posterior triangle" of the neck. Superiorly the LS is covered by the SCM, inferior by the Upper Traps, anterior by the Scalenes and posterior by the Splenius Cervicis.
.
WWHHHHHHY am I naming everything? To drive the point home that the body is NOT 2D. Everything lies on top👆🏻underneath👇🏻next to👉🏻 and beside 👈🏻everything else. And guess what- this webbing of stuff we kinda understand (but don't really) called fascia, connects it all.
.
So why am I only blaming LS? Character limit, mostly. BUT if you find yourself with an arm flailed over your head🙆🏻 and your neck bending off to one side it stands to reason that LS has been thrown into a shortened↔️state for some time...maybe all night. Since this muscle just happens to also connect straight onto your spine, it can cause some issues; and as you recall, stiff/sore neck issues are generally either a muscle or a joint issue.
.
Does it work alone? No, I just named like 3 other muscles all in the same area doing similar things. Just understand there is a story to be told that you need to unlock (like your NECK! ha, pun) but in the meantime- try this stretch and see if it starts to help some gnarliness.

FROM @yourteamdoc at the Performance Therapy Geeks clinic: #midweekmovement is a series for the hip and ankle. Ankle dorsiflexion was great in terms of mobility, but the compensation noticed was that the flexed hip became internally rotated and elevated to create that dorsiflexion. Using some self-mobilizations for tibial internal rotation and some sensory input for dropping that flexed hip we were able to assess and manipulate the compensation patterns. Crazy Simple Overnight Oatmeal
Snack Attack!! Or Brekky ToGo if you want! Here's our gluten, dairy, refined sugar F R E E recipe... Enjoiii!

* 1/2 cup @onlyoats.avenafoods whole rolled gfree oats
* 2 tsp chia seeds
* 1 scoop of @vitalproteins Collagen peptides
* 1 tsp cinnamon
* 1 tsp honey
* Almond milk (fill the jar right up!)
* Couple drops of Vanilla
* 1 tbs Organic Almond butter

Add all the ingredients together except for the almond butter!; close the lid (if using a jar) and ShakeShakeShake (or StirStirStir); place in fridge for at least 1 hour and a half (we make it the night before so things are easier the next day!); then add the almond butter on top before you MOW. DOWN.
Healthy soul. Happy heart.
