It’s Monday afternoon and there a million reasons to blow off your workout tonight. Instead however, why not take a second and maybe even think about a goal you have coming up this summer, for extra motivation. We all want to feel good, strong and healthy for those summer adventures, but training starts now. It’s doesn’t have to be a 3hr workout... instead do some core, make time to stretch and simply try to be more consistent this time of year. “A little dose will do ya”, my mom used to say... so let’s all take Mama’s advise tonight and see how that pays off when the mountains open up for trail running season. Rather than your old school hammer curls, try this little “Functional Curls” variation... here’s why;

1️⃣1/2 Kneeling is a great position to stabilize your hips and engage your rear glute, thigh, and lock into your front leg as strong roots
2️⃣Loading one side of the body challenges your core and structure to resist lateral flexion or collapse. As a good tip, keep your elbow just off of your ribs, and imagine squeezing a peanut in your armpit to set a good Racked position
3️⃣ @huntthesheriff says that biceps are the key to winning obstacle races , so a few sets here at the end of an obsctacle training session fit the bill.

Never underestimate the mountain and be prepared of what the mother nature will bring. Picture from yesterday climb when heavy weather hit the summit as I’m preparing for @goat_run race course.
A good gear and equipment will make a huge different and make you comfortable moving on the mountain.
Invest carefully on your gears.
