First set tried to quick pause and then TNG second rep same as I did in warm ups. Then went 2x2 TNG. Didn't want to lift today, I sat at home in a lot of pain and was tired, but then I just decided to quit feeling sorry for myself and went in and got focused. Hit some heavy singles on the belt squat today. SI joint is recovering nicely, but I'm going to wait to put a bar on my back. Had @elite_recovery_lmt help me get my hips in order today, so I figured I would test them out.
As for the weights I'm assuming the unloaded weight of the belt squat is 55. I've been told as heavy as 75, but not sure if that's right.

"This statement means more to me the older I get. Gaining strength is a slow and arduous process that requires some dedication and consistency. There is longevity in my family. Chances are I will live well into my 90s (I hope) and if I do, I want to remain as independent as possible. The best move i've made in that regard was one i wouldnt have made myself. The same week i learned of the closing, the Repository ran a story about a young man who had opened a barbell gym just down the road. I checked it out and liked the vibe but I needed guidance. Having someone knowledgeable create my workout program was the second best thing ive done! A program that incorporates some powerlifting and body building. While I thoroughly dislike squats, (i avoided anything resembling a squat for 30 years for fear I wouldn't get back up) they are the best thing in the world for functional strength. Squats and I have a love/hate relationship! My own fears and hangups are still my biggest stumbling blocks but I will persist! Always learning, always growing!"

Injuries are healing a little more every day. Bench felt real good today, and it was the first time I've done non-pendlay rows in ages. Same with landmines. Today was a special day, I got great handies from both @lin_rosss and @j_oly15.

Awesome day @ Pittsburgh Barbell! Tied my meet PR 290kg Total, finally hit a 287lb / 130kg Snatch, 2kg meet PR. For Clean & Jerk I hit 353lb / 160kg and immediately jumped to 170kg to try and qualify for nationals. We trained through this meet and didn’t taper, getting ready for the Arnold in 5ish weeks. Excited to keep this train rolling! @rubbercityweightlifting

snatches didn’t go as planned- only made my opener at 56kg but I went 3/3 in the clean and jerk with 71kg PR! 56/71/127 giving me a 3kg meet total PR! Time to start getting ready for the Arnold.

I CAN DO A BARBELL VARIATION AGAIN. Front squats felt really good yesterday. I got a little balsy working up to within 20lbs of my 1RM. You can see pretty clearly in the video I came forward, so I just let it go. I'm an idiot for setting the catch bars with an oly bar and bumper plates. Could have/should have dropped it to the floor... Sorry Justin. I'm thinking I can probably put a bar on my back within two weeks. Definitely not trying to rush it this time. Definitely not helping anyone move until after my next meet either.
