1.Be Smart About Your Booze “If you tend to drink alcohol at parties (or more often during the holidays because of the socializing), go for a glass of wine or a spritzer to keep liquid calories in check,” says Marisa Moore, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in Atlanta and founder of Marisa Moore Nutrition.

In addition to having fewer calories than most alcoholic beverages, red wine, in particular, contains resveratrol, an antioxidant that is believed to have heart health benefits because it helps prevent blood vessel damage and reduces your ‘bad cholesterol.

2.Avoid Eggnog

Eggnog may be a holiday favorite, but the festive libation is also a nutritional nightmare. Just one (non-alcoholic) cup contains almost 350 calories, 19 grams of fat, and 21 grams of sugar—nearly the recommended amount of sweet stuff for an entire day. Instead of sipping on eggnog, Lauren Manganiello, MS, RD, CDN, and a private practice registered dietitian in New York City, recommends choosing champagne because the bubbly stuff has far fewer calories and much less fat.

3.Load Up On Lentils

As part of an Italian family, we eat meatballs and meat lasagna at Christmas. But as a vegetarian, I make a healthier alternative with pulses, AKA lentils” explains Natalie Rizzo, MS, RD. For Rizzo, that means making lentil meatballs or a lentil bolognese sauce instead of using meat, which is high in fat. “Not only do you cut down on calories and saturated fat by omitting the meat, but you also get a healthy dose of fiber and protein,” she says. “Plus, it tastes really good, so meat eaters will even like this healthy swap

Actually, it’s usually a bit more than disagree. Typically, they’re scolding me for even suggesting that people can eat fast food or candy and still be healthy & lean 🙅

Of course, that’s not what I preach. Anyone who follows me knows that I am all about eating healthy foods. Whole foods — fruits 🍎, veggies 🥗, meats 🍖, grains 🍚, etc. — are essential for our health, and they should make up the majority of your diet. – 
But that doesn’t mean you can’t have “fun” foods every once in a while...

Cause here’s the thing 👉 you could try to eat perfectly “clean” (whatever that means) and avoid all temptation. But chances are, you won’t be able to sustain it. And when you DO give in, you may end up overeating enough to seriously set yourself back 😰…

That, in turn, leads to more restriction and more bingeing and more restriction and more bingeing and more… You get the point. – 
Wouldn’t it be better to eat healthy foods most of the time and occasionally have *less healthy* foods in moderation when you crave them? –

🦄Before the Death Eater attacks begin allow me to begin by saying there is no food that is inherently “off limits” when you’re trying to lose fat. Regardless of your goal, you can absolutely 100% have everything on either side of the page.

☕️The reason I separated it like this is for simple ease of use and understanding. The left side (fat loss) is foods that tend to be lower calorie, higher protein, and very filling so you can eat more without blowing past your calories for the day. Whereas the foods on the right (mass gain) tend to higher calorie and less filling so, if you’re having trouble meeting your calorie goals this will make it much easier.

🦄Some quick notes for fat loss shakes:

❄️Ice cubes are magical chunks of frozen patronuses and if you want to make a thick, filling smoothie even thicker and more filling...add more ice.
-
🍓Strawberries are only 150 calories for an entire POUND and they make your smoothie taste like sexy time.
-
🥜If you want the taste of peanut butter without the calories, PB2 is 100% your best alternative.
-
🍫There are these things called “fudgsicles” and they’re basically chocolate popsicles that are only 40 calories a piece and also taste like sexy time. Put 1 or 12 of these in your shake and hnggggggg.

🦄And some quick notes for mass gain shakes:

🍼Whole milk is absolutely the way to go. Or, if you don’t like milk, make it with orange juice. Either way, they’ll make your shake insanely high in calories and magically delicious.

🥜 If you are struggling to gain weight and you aren’t putting peanut butter on literally everything you eat...wtf is wrong with you? Step your game up.

Let’s be honest, hunger is no fun. And while we can’t avoid it completely, there are ways to lessen it’s effect so you can stick to your desired style of eating 🍏

🍳Of all the macros, protein is the most filling. Not only does it blunt hunger in the short time by making you feel more satisfied, it also helps keep your blood sugar stable so you will feel fuller for longer.

🍓Fibre is also very filling. Eating fibre-rich foods, especially fibrous veggies, literally stretches your stomach, which will turn off the hunger hormone ghrelin. Fibre also helps food digest slowly, so you will stay fuller for longer 👌🏼

No, eating fruit won’t make you fat. In fact, because it’s full of fibre and water, it will fill you up, which can help you eat less overall 🔥

hi!! so sorry I have been totally MIA lately, finals start tomorrow and I have pretty much been taking a break from social media because of the crazy amount of work I have been drowning in lately🌪️📚

As a real chocolaty belgian girl, I really had to do this! 🍫🇧🇪
When I am craving for chocolate milk I always drink this variant. There is a huge difference between those two in calories and carbs. I don't like to take to many fast carbs. They give you a short energy spike and you'll always crave for more because of the insuline shot. Even without the sugar (because some people don't put it in there) there are still lots of fastcarbs in it. So I really prefer this healthier option. It tastes great in my opinion and the best part is that it really helps me with my other chocolate cravings too! 🤗 I also use them for my oats in the morning! Feel free to try it and if you did, you can always share your opinion with me! ❤️#curious 🤔 🔰PS: The standard chocolate milk is very good after a game or heavy trainingsession as a recovery drink.
