Land of Misplaced Dreams

If only we were able to maintain our infantile curiosity throughout all of our lives; we would wake up everyday, exploring new places and learning new things. We would reinvent ourselves over and over again. We would understand the core of our personalities by constantly putting oneself in new environments.
Instead a completely outdated school system leads us to believe that we learn for grades and degrees, money and parents. So we choose careers we hate to buy stuff we don’t need to conceal a life we hate.
If there is one thing I wish I could tell my six year old self, it’s that you don’t learn for anyone or anything else. You learn to understand the world and your place in it, how every single thing eventually connects, to transform your potential into skills.
- L.

Stay, you don't always know where you stand
Till you know that you won't run away
There's something inside me that feels
Like breathing in sulfur
Like breathing in sulfur

“The Weatherman Series” was my first encounter with the work of Evgenia Arbugaeva and I immediately fell in love. What I admire most is her cinematic approach of reality. This photograph is part of a series about reindeer herders in Russia’s Arctic she made for National Geographic. | Selected by @myrthemosterman | #thinkverylittle

"SNÆFELLSNES PENINSULA" DIPTYCH Limited Edition prints⠀

Magical light over Snæfellsjökull and peninsula, Iceland ⠀

— Image from the book “The Art of Stillness: Adventures in Going Nowhere" by Pico Iyer, published by TED Books and Simon & Schuster⠀

— Available now at my website -see above⠀
-⠀
The book was published in Nov 2014 and since then people from all over the world have contacted me and some even hung an image or two on their walls. That is the ultimate honour!⠀
I hope to take the viewer on a quick journey to a moment in time, a place of stillness, the stillness I find when creating them. - Eydís
