At the moment there is a movement, to create the worlds largest ever marine sanctuary in the Antarctic Ocean. It was started by Greenpeace and has garnered 497,000+ signatures. Not only has it gained the support of hundreds of thousands of people but even the UK Government is interested in pushing this ahead. Now that we have interest from politicians, governments and organisations; all we need is the everyday people who care about our oceans and want to show it! So please go and JOIN the movement by clicking the link in my bio and ADDING YOUR NAME. The more people the better. If we get lots of signatures maybe the UK government will be more willing and maybe other countries will want to join. 2018 could be the beginning of the largest area of protected ocean ever and it’s all down to us to get as much support and signatures as possible! SO SIGN IN SHARE (LINK IN BIO). You can sign other petitions for marine protection while you’re there.

Muhteşem gerçekten 😎
To spend time in the Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia is like walking through a scene in James Cameron’s “Avatar”. Spirit bears walk through an ancient forest, humpback whales lunge-feed skyward, a rich and diverse underwater world thrives, millions of salmon return to their natal streams and some of the biggest carbon sequestering trees in the world make this place appear otherworldly. And yet, like the film, all of this is under threat due to logging, overfishing, pollution, ship noise, and oil spills. When are we going to realize the true value of protecting 4 billion years of evolutionary perfection? #followme on @paulnicklen as we continue to use the power of visual-storytelling to connect the world to places that need our protection. #nature #naturelovers #video #livewithpurpose #bethechange #whale #underwaterphotography

Saturday I was out paddleboarding and we saw a whale, she was underwater for very long periods of time so we assumed she was trying to give birth. Then on Sunday we saw her again but now she was swimming with her new baby! She was teaching the baby how to swim and keeping her safe. I was singing to them on my paddleboard and she let her baby come close to me. There was even moments when the baby was coming straight at me. There was also a canoe in the water about 100ft from me but the whales didn’t go to them. Then when any boats would come the whales would swim away. When the boats would leave, the whales would swim back to me. I continued singing and I could see their massive bodies under the water glowing and swimming straight toward my board. I kept singing. Then they stopped swimming and I could see them glowing right under me. I just couldn’t believe that they would be under me so I got my mask on and put my head in the water laying on my board...and sure enough they were under me! It seemed as if they liked my singing and felt safe under me. However I couldn’t see the baby and then when I looked closely I realized the baby was right under the mommas fin. I’m assuming the mom was nursing her baby. It was incredible! I continued singing as I put my face in the water and then started laughing after I realized how ridiculous the singing sounded under water 😂 I could see the baby swimming up about to surface so I pulled my face out of the water and watched them both peacefully surface and leave. It was an incredible experience that I will forever remember. I felt so connected to them, like they trusted me. I was honored. (In this photo you can see my paddleboard and then the baby leaving the momma coming to the surface!) 📷photo credit: George Kaimana Yasuda 📷
