I was having this problem for the LONGEST time and it got me so discouraged for the so long I didn’t even want to squat anymore because It just made me feel weak. I was not able to get past 165lbs. I was stuck... then I changed my mindset and told myself there HAD to be a way to get past this funk and indeed there was!!! I researched for hours, talked to several people and tried different methods. So if you are like me then HERE is how to increase your weight!💪🏻 you’ll thank me I promise😏

1️⃣. Start with low weight (I’m doing a 25lb weight on each side) and hold your squat at parallel for 8 seconds, then next rep go down and hold for 7 seconds, next rep hold for 6 seconds, then hold for 5 seconds, and continue decreasing the seconds until you hit 0 seconds. THIS HELPS SO MUCH YOU HAVE NO IDEA. •

2️⃣. Change your stance to a little wider stance and point your toes outward. This will help your legs to be able to tolerate heavier weight instead of putting most of the stress on your back. •

3️⃣. Squat as heavy as you can on the SMITH MACHINE (Add 10lbs to your heaviest I know you can do it!) BEFORE you go to the free weight bar and try to squat heavier than you have before. This will help SO MUCH!!! Because your body will be used to that heavy weight from the smith machine and then when you go to the free weight bar it’ll be so much lighter even though it’s your PR!
Example: Say I’m stuck at 165lbs and I want to add 10lbs... I would go to the smith machine and squat 185-200lbs for VERY low reps 3-4. Then I would go straight to the free weight bar and squat 175lbs and wallah! It’s so much lighter!💪🏻 LIFE HACK 101🙌🏻😏 __
