The awesome scope and grandeur of Buddha worship, respect, and devotion is on full display in Yangon, formerly Rangoon; former capitol of Burma, now Myanmar. Witness the Chaukhtatgyi Paya Temple and its breathtaking 213’ foot/ 66 M-long Reclining Buddha. His crown is encrusted with diamonds and other precious stones, not to mention gold everywhere. (In Myanmar all that glitters is often really gold). There are 108 distinct marks on the soles of his feet representing the three worlds: Inanimate, Animate, and Conditional. The message is that Buddha is greater than all three worlds. I never saw these foot markings anywhere else, and have included pix of their meaning and his dimensions to WOW you even more. ⚠️ TIP: When visiting Temples, Pagodas and Monasteries in Myanmar be sure to stick to the dress code. Modesty expected (no spaghetti tops or short shorts); longhis on men and women ( floor-length wrap-around skirts), are always welcome and probably preferred. Love it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️ . . . . . #passionpassport #welltravelled #mytinyatlas #traveldeeper #dametraveler #travelstops #travelawesome #traveladdict #traveltheworld #igerstoronto #globetrotter #seetheworld #travellife #travelgram #travels #darlingmovement #exploreeverything #adventureisoutthere #getoutside #inspiration #beauty #traveler #exploreeverything #liveauthentic #lifeofadventure #myanmar #buddha #diamonds #yangon - [ ]
