We are a no-kill, volunteer-run 501c3 devoted to rescuing and finding loving forever homes for homeless cats & kittens in LA since 1997.
Did you know that newborn kittens need to eat every 2-3 hours? We think it's pretty evident in this chubby little guy 😅💕 Coincidentally, his name just happens to be Taquito! .
If you're interested in giving a kitten their forever home, we have adoption events this weekend in Canoga Park, Mar Vista, Pasadena, Westchester, Burbank, and Northridge! 🐱
In honor of National Black Cat Appreciation Day, here are some of the beautiful black cats living in our sanctuary 🐾 During the Middle Ages, a misconception spread throughout Europe that black cats were unlucky - however, many cultures have historically viewed black cats as a symbol of good luck! Either way, if you see a black cat today, make sure to give them some extra love 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
Kitten bath time 😻 Kitten Rescue saves hundreds of kittens from the LA city shelters every year. Sometimes a few of them come with a fungal infection called ringworm. Luckily it's completely harmless, but it requires anti fungal baths for at least a month before the kittens can be put up for adoption.
Norman and Saffron stoically accepted their baths because they know it brings them one step closer to a forever home of their own.
Join us in celebrating 20 years of saving lives at Kitten Rescue's 9th Annual Fur Ball on September 16th, hosted by the beautiful, talented and compassionate @officialtriciahelfer. The evening will include an open bar, an elegant plant-based dinner, a fabulous silent auction, performances, and much more! Purchase tickets via the link in bio.
We're so excited to announce that two of our sanctuary cats, Electra and Chloe, were both adopted into their forever homes over the weekend! Besides the Kitten Nursery, our facility houses a sanctuary which is home to approximately 150 cats. Because many of these cats are older or have chronic medical conditions, they are often overlooked by adopters, and many stay with us for the majority of their lives - but just like our Nursery kittens, they too deserve the chance to find loving forever homes. We're going to miss seeing these two every day, but we're so happy to know they're going to great homes with their new families! 💛 #internationalcatday
🎉 🎂 Happy 1st birthday to the Powerpuff Girls! 🎂 🎉 Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup came to Kitten Rescue when they were just 10 days old. We quickly realized they were a little different from other kittens -- they had cerebellar hypoplasia, a neurological condition that causes jerky and uncoordinated movements, rendering the girls unable to walk or stand on their own. Over the past year, the three sisters have undergone extensive physical therapy, and received endless love and attention from our volunteers and staff, who provide round the clock care for the three kittens. We're so happy the Powerpuff girls found their way to us, and we will continue to do everything we can to provide them with the best care available -- plus endless kisses and cuddles. Happy birthday Bubbles, Buttercup and Blossom! 🎊🎁🎈
Little @waverly_mctinybeans, the paralyzed kitten saved by a dog last month, developed aspiration pneumonia during her spay surgery earlier this week and will be in the hospital for a few days fighting it off. If you'd like to help pay for her care, you may donate at the link in our bio. Good luck, Waverly 💗💗💗
