A ton of people ask me how they should come out to their parents. The truth is, I never officially came out as queer, and I only JUST had my first conversation with my mom about gender a couple months ago. In yesterday’s vid I share the phone call where I do my best to explain to my mom what my gender means to me and what my transition might look like in the future. Believe it for not, I’m kind of a noob at this! But for all those asking for ‘coming out to parent’ advice, here is how I did it I guess?
Explaining a non binary identity to a parent can be a scary and tricky task. People as me all the time for advice on the matter, but until recently I didn't even know how to go about this myself! Just a couple months ago I called my mom to tell her I'm trans. Today I have the privilege of sharing that phone call with you If you care to watch the video, the link of course is in my bio
Well!!! If you were feeling unworthy or rejected at all by any recent media (I know I was), here is a little love - over 1,000 people who view trans folks rad potential date-mates! Also I noticed I put “sexy” in the tweet and lots of ace people chimed in saying, while it wouldn’t be sexy to them, they wouldn’t count trans folks out as partners! Aro people too said that trans people would make excellent cuddle buddies and QPR partners for them. Also, most of us know this, but I case you needed a reminder: you don’t need to be “deemed datable” by anyone to be worthy! For the people looking for that kind of connection though, don’t think you’re out of luck just b/c you’re trans. This silly tweet goes to show that MANY, MANY people out there love and appreciate you just as you are
