BENEFITS OF WATCHING THE SUNSET
Have you ever heard that the blue light from your phone, television, or computer screen is bad for you, especially at night?
This is because it mimics the ️blue ️sky which triggers our brain to be awake and alert.
However, the ️orange ️hue of a sunset triggers melatonin production, the molecule that makes you sleepy!
Make sure to try and limit screen time after sunset (especially children having trouble going to bed) and try to watch the sunset if possible
Melatonin regulates the sleep cycle and is vital for proper rest and cell repair so we don't want to impede it's function!
Every time you put something in your mouth you're making a choice to move closer to health or dis-ease. Choose wisely

Happy rising! So, clearly, it is better to eat healthier than the Standard American Diet (S.A.D. ). However, I also understand that a lifestyle change can become overwhelming so these easy tricks can be a great place to start.
I also want to underscore the importance of lifestyle change. .
I do not believe in diets as they have been proven time and time again to not work - certainly not for the long-term. This is probably in part because the word 'diet' has a connotation of meaning temporary, most likely with the goal of rapid #weightloss (which always comes back with a vengeance! ) .
Since this is about long-term lifestyle changes, there's no rush♂️! It's much better to move in baby steps that you are comfortable with so you don't throw in the towel and revert back to your old ways.
These here are simple tips & tricks to eat better without changing what you eat, but HOW you eat it. .
1.) SLOW DOWN - Always be #mindful when you're eating. This means not to be simultaneously watching t.v., doing work, driving, ect. When you're doing other activities while eating, you end up not paying attention to hunger cues and therefore overeating.
2.) ONLY EAT TO 80% FULLNESS- This practice was 1st brought to the public's attention after a blue zone was found in Okinawa, Japan. A blue zone is an area of the world where a markedly higher percentage of people are living to be over 100 years old and still able to do daily tasks such as driving and gardening. Almost every centenarian interviewed from Okinawa mentioned that they only eat to 80% fullness - a practice they refer to as "hara hachi bu".
3.) CHEW YOUR FOOD - You should be chewing your food until it reaches a baby food-like consistency. It's important to remember that chewing is the only mechanical process of digestion. From there, the food is broken down into individual parts using chemicals only (mostly acids in the stomach). This process only works when the food is completely chewed up. .
[CONTINUED IN COMMENTS]
We have to move past our comfort zones to do what we came here to do
The journey might be uncomfortable, but it'll definitely be worth it in the end. .

Mornings can be busy and finding time to cook a nutritious breakfast often gets put on the back-burner. Luckily, this 5 minute, easy recipe (with just as easy of a clean up) can come in handy! All it takes is lox (salmon), egg, and avocado.
1.) Cut avocado in half
2.) Lightly sautee lox for about 30 seconds and place a thin layer on top of the avocado
3.) Cook pasture-raised egg to liking (I prefer over easy)
4.) Season with pink salt, pepper, and dill
5.) Get on with your morning! .

Happy Hump Day! You've made it half-way through the week and now it's time to treat yo' self to a little TLC. Fortunately, it couldn't be easier with this simple 3 ingredient detox bath! .
What you'll need:
️1/2 - 1 cup bentonite clay ️1/2 cup Epsom salt
️ 2-3 drops lavender essential oil (optional)
1.) Start to fill tub with warm to hot water
2.) As it is filling, add in ingredients and mix it around so everything is evenly suspended in the bath water (some clumps may remain- that is okay)
3.) Soak for a max of 20 minutes .
1.) You could also use this recipe for a detox foot bath
2.) It is best to do this recipe with filtered water by having a whole house filtration system or a filter on the shower head
Benefits of bentonite clay:
Bentonite clay is so powerful because once it meets with water, it chemically changes to have a strong negative () charge. This is so profound because toxins generally have a strong positive () charge, and since we know that opposites attract (chemically speaking), the clay will bind with them where they can safely exit the body.
Bentonite clay is also known to help oxygenate the cells by pulling out excess hydrogen, giving the cell the ability to substitute it with oxygen instead. This is huge because low levels of properly oxygenated blood are known to breed cancer.
Since the clay is so powerful it's important to remember to soak for only 20 minutes max (less if you are extremely sick/toxic).
One part I really love about this clay is that you can see it working! As you are soaking, you may notice the clay getting stuck to certain parts of your body in clumps. This is the toxins being drawn out of the body and the clay being attracted to it by chemical charge. How cool! Plus, I love seeing something work you you know your efforts (or money ) aren't being wasted. .
Epsom salt, derived from distilled mineral-rich water, is also very beneficial. It has a high magnesium content which is good for relaxing muscles and getting a good night's sleep♀️. Also, due to the overuse of pesticides creating depleted soils, most Americans are deficient in magnesium.
This is one of my favorite breakfasts because it only takes a couple of minutes to prep the night before and then the next morning it's ready to grab-n-go! Plus, it's full of fiber and and healthy fats that will keep you full and ready to take on your busy morning.
Another bonus is that chia seeds are very high in Omega-3 fatty acids. Americans tend to be low in Omega-3's, especially in comparison to Omega-6 (and it's the RATIO that counts, not necessarily the amounts of each) which can lead to health problems. Most notably, a skewed ratio too high in Omega-6 fatty acids can lead to heart disease, the #1 killer of Americans today.
Luckily, this super simple recipe will have you on the way to getting that Omega-3 to 6 ratio back in check!
Some more fun chia facts include:
️It is gluten free
️High in fiber
️Made of 20% protein
️7X more Vitamin C than an orange
️5X more calcium than milk
️3X more iron than spinach ️2X more potassium than a banana
️Balances blood sugar making it awesome for diabetics
Once you know the ratio of liquid to chia seed, then just about anything can be added. One of the best things about this recipe is it's versatility. Have fun with it!

Here's a big screw you to society's beauty standards Here I am sharing a beautiful moment with my fiance on the beach and our cultural norms would have it so it's more normal for me to sit here and nitpick at my body about what I would change than to fully accept it, which is keeping me alive after all! Idk what I'm trying to say exactly. I guess go out there, have fun on the beach and let those tummy rolls out!!!!!! I just want everyone to love the shit out of themselves and say screw you to society's made up standards of beauty
So last night as we were watching the sunset on our last day in paradise having the perfect conversation about life, he paused and said let's take a picture. I didn't think anything of it cause he always loves taking pictures with me - and I mean, we did have the most beautiful sunset behind us..
But then, the love of my life got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.
I'd say we couldn't have ended the best vacation ever any other way. Definitely had the trip of of a lifetime & I can't wait to take on the rest of life with the best teammate on my side
What an incredible experience to be around these massive creatures. They are highly intelligent and its immediately obvious just by watching their movements. Supposedly they will even remember you up to 2 years later - although I'll remember Ella for the rest of my life She had such a wonderful spirit
Today was nothing short of magical The rainforest is a wise spirit for sure and I'm beyond blessed to have witnessed her in person.
Im glad we spent a little extra money on a company that's truly ethical and eco friendly - it was definitely an experience of a lifetime and I don't have to feel bad about it at all. Seeing wild Gibbons in their natural habitat is a memory I will treasure forever.
