Anyone else love this movie? Such a love letter to my hometown can’t help but enjoy, and I also have special affection for actress Laurie Metcalf. When I waited tables in college, Laurie and Al Pacino came in to my restaurant and I had the pleasure of being their waiter. They were both such down to earth, nice people. Hope everyone gets to see this movie and that it leads to more Sacramento-inspired film and art ♀️🤩
Big places that can make you feel really small....Mad love for this exquisite work of architecture in #DTLA. On this Thanksgiving Eve, want to also express mad love and thanks for everyone on IG who has encouraged and inspired me this past couple years. Have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving and BIG shoutout to these 2 hubs for featuring my last post: @wildcalifornia_ @loves_reflections
Wonder what the electric bill is for LACMA’s “Urban Light” every month? Anyway thanks for keeping it lit LA! Oh, and speaking of thanks, HUGE thanks to these sites for recent features: @visitsacramento
You may be wondering why I’m holding a yellow lantern against a sunset sky with a baseball field below. Well, aside from the fact I really enjoy sunset shots, this past Saturday was Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Greater Sacramento’s Light the Night Celebration, and the yellow lanterns represent remembrance of someone lost to a blood cancer (in my case my dad almost 3 years ago). Honored to serve as the board chair for LLS Greater Sacramento and many thanks to the LLS team, volunteers, sponsors and fundraisers who supported this year’s event! ♂️
When tragedies happen, and we’ve certainly had our share this year, I always try to take stock of what’s important and be grateful. One thing I’m grateful for are all the people who have inspired me with their photography as well as supported me with encouraging feedback. Tap the photo to see just a few, and much gratitude to everyone who has encouraged me these past 2 years!
This image included two things I love, last night's dramatic storm clouds and cool, vintage Sacramento architecture. If you're an architecture fan, check out the latest @comstocksmag and see @aiacentralvalley Design Award winners and #archobs2017 photo contest winners (tap photo to see some of the winners and join us for a reception on Sept 20th) #urbanphotography
There was something about this scene that struck me as pure magic last night. As I walked over the Guy West Bridge I spotted this little fishing boat below, with these perfect cloud reflections and the bridge in the distance. A minute later and I would have missed this perfect confluence of events. Thanks universe!!
