Modified glute ham raise. In most cases its usually good to use a full range of motion. In my situation with a bad low back my body cannot handle the stress put by a full range of motion on this exercise. This range can also be good for beginners to get a feel and slowly own the movement.

By modifying the range i can strengthen my hamstrings and get a descent result without causing pain. Ribs down is crucial and keeping your body real stiff and tight. Believe it or not this small range of motion actually really lights my hamstrings up give it a shot.

In my younger years i was aware i wasn't the sharpest guy out their๐Ÿ”ช๐Ÿ”ช With my addiction issues i knew i had serious problems but wasn't willing to let anyone help me.
My ego and denial was destroying me and the loved ones around me. Today much older only a little wiser๐Ÿ˜ž i can do this much easier. Ive slowly learned to be able to open up to people or let them in with a select few. I still have my shutdown periods where i default to old behaviors im not perfect.

Bottom line nobody does everything alone. It is important to allow people to help you in time of need and even more important to be of service to others!! Dont let the ego get the best of you let it work for you.

A kettle bell pullover is a great exercise for resisting lumbar extension. Here the most IMPORTANT THING is keeping your LOW BACK FLAT against the ground and not arching. From here the steps are simple
1. Reach the bell towards the ceiling to better engage your abs.
2. Exhale and drop the bell overhead towards the ground under control.

3. Pause at the bottom then inhale while holding the bell steady. Make sure your back stays flat.

4. Exhale as you raise the bell back to the starting position. Thats all folks...

Hold a tight grip on the bell at your side and stand tall. Go for a nice long walk brassing your abs real tight make sure to control your breathing. 60 yards or so should work then turn around and carry back with the other hand. That's all folks!!

A little kick back to July 2005 Vogue magazine. Some or most of people's best work never gets to be seen on a larger scale but the trainer / client build that bond and see it happen and that's what really matters. Due to alcohol and drugs throughout my career I wasted and gave away many opportunities. I wasn't fully present at times I needed to be and paid for it. Along the way I lost 2 of my own training business 1 up in Westchester from 2003 through 2005 and another in NYC / East Hampton from 2006 through 2010.
From here out I spent the next 4 years in Institutions for addiction at times without even a cell phone or anything to call my own. I was haunted with fear of what my life had become and all the family and people I had let down. I was up many nights in these places just thinking with a sober mind for the first time in my life. Most of these places were not nice by any means considering I wasn't paying for treatment in Malibu๐Ÿค” I was surrounded by criminals and people with poor morals so I had to take a deeper look at myself and where my best thinking got me. Reality was a real smack in the face at 34 years old with nothing.
Now with 5.5 years sober I rarely think about my past as all lost opportunity but instead it was my path to where I am today and the great people I've met along the way. I'm not always happy with life which lately has been a real bitch but I trust or have faith that the man upstairs has a plan for me! My message again never give in! Stand strong show up and bring it the man or woman upstairs has a plan for you too!!!

Im opening up a little to the public with intention of helping people. Sometimes you gotta just work with what you can control. I've currently in about the past 5 weeks dropped about 14lbs just by really changing my eating. I just started adding in cardio recently and currently not lifting anything heavy at all. I was getting on a great role with my lifting but took my will back to quickly pushing to hard and strained my low back again. Thankfully by knowing some very smart people that originally helped me I can regress and go back more steadily to the exercises I know will get me better. Big shout out to my brother @benzc33 who is currently in control of my program. I'm humbled everyday by this man's knowledge but most impressed with his genuine ways and kind heart!! In other aspects of my life I've learned to get out of the driver seat and get help when I need it so the same rules apply to my training. After 20 years of chronic low back pain with the last 4 years being brutal it's hard to be patient but day in day out I will push through yet another battle welcoming the difficult challenge. *
