It’s rainy in NYC this morning so I dug up this priceless gem from 3.5 years ago when I rode fixed, was practicing track stands to look the part, and was overall clueless about cycling. I remember I got fried that day, needed more sunscreen. Also why did I have a fender on with 0 clouds in the sky? haha
Saddened to say that the fracture has gotten worse. At 3 weeks, it looked like it was coming together, but commuting into work and walking ~11k steps per day after the soft tissue damage healed, moved the fracture out of place. It was really deceptive because I wasn’t in much pain at all. It’s tough when everyone’s rushing to and from work and you feel like you need to move quicker. Doctor said to limit my steps to 3k. Talk about a difference.
Thankfully am NOT at the cutoff for surgery and my risk of arthritis is MUCH lower now than it originally was because the part of the fracture by the joint looks a lot cleaner than it was. Onwards and upwards.
Two weeks until the next x-ray. Likely off the bike another month at least. Oh well, more time to work on upper body.
