Triathlon is awesome- it's not just exercise. A. Always B. Be S. Sending SOLSTICE SESSIONS 🎥 ⬇️
Gnarly day at #wtshamburg today. A lot of factors and places for me to improve, (like positioning in this insane pack) but ultimately, I pulled out on the run due to a stabbing pain in my left foot. I hate DNF'ing, but I couldn't even manage to walk back to transition on my own. Time to find out WTF that pain was about and make sure it never happens again. Thanks for the messages and support, everyone. Thanks to @usatriathlon for the post-race support #usatriathlon
Yesterday was beyond rad thanks to a lot of people, but these two guys in particular really went the distance. Danny drove sag for over 260km, and Matt got 6 stitches in his face and still made it back out for the last run down Maryhill at sunset. Stoked on life, and stoked to share the story. Love these guys. #friends #friendswhosend #solsticesessions
Still one of my favorite pictures of all-time with my Dad. From swim team to triathlon, to turning pro, to making a living doing what I love, he's been there the whole way. Supporting, inspiring, pushing me to be better in everything I do. The only mistake is to not do your best work. Thanks, Dad. #fathersday
Unbelievably, I'd never met this guy until last night. First: Thanks to @redbull and @rebeccarusch for some incredible motivation with #bloodroad.. I'm blown away. Definitely fuel for the fire and for thought. SEE THAT FILM. Talking to Jesse afterwards about triathlon, life, goals, everything was rad and something I needed. I've got a lot of respect for this guy, and his ability to manage his life in the sport. We may have a little different paths and priorities, due to career timing, Olympics vs 70.3, etc, but lessons of establishing and sticking to those priorities are universal. #life #triathlon
No swim, time trial start on the bike. I never fault races for making safety decisions, but it's a bummer. The thing I was most looking forward to was racing this classy field of athletes, and a 90 minute solo effort where I only saw one other person just didn't hit the spot. I pushed the whole way, and emptied the tank, but reflecting now, post-race, I know I'm a racer and I'll always get the best out of myself, that extra little bit, when I'm shoulder on shoulder with another guy. Looking forward to an epic 2018 escape. Congrats to @benkanute for a stellar day. Animal.
