I had my doubts before the race began. I over trained and burned myself out the past couple of weeks.
My plan was to take things easy. But as with any ultramarathon, nothing ever is.
This is my third ultramarathon and just when I thought that things would be easier, they're not.
I have chafing, blisters, cramps, lactic acid built up, mud, the whole gang. Whenever I see a photographer I would endure all those amd try to look graceful and muster up a smile.
Pushing myself feels rewarding, but I am at the edge of my threshold. I'm thinking of doing one more then rest for a few months.
2 down, 1 to go.
I wasn't too optimistic about this run. I just finished a marathon a couple weeks ago and got sick the day after.
I felt out of shape that I was struggling to finish 4km the other day. I thought to myself that I'll have to take this one slowly and crawl if I have to.
Lo and behold, by Odin's beard, I got myself a new record for 32km.
