#GuidingEyes dogs are trained to do many things: guide their partner to a chair, help find a door, go up and down stairs, even find the elevator button!
A guide dog will work with a trainer for at least five months and are taught many lessons, each one building upon those that came before it, with hundreds of repetitions!

Puppies, like humans, are more accepting of a variety of stimuli if they are exposed at an early age. From birth to 16 weeks, the pups undergo a period of rapid brain development!

"What a guide dog means for an individual like me who's blind is difficult to express in words but best said - it means freedom. A sense of independence, of mobility, of safety. - Tom Panek, CEO, Guiding Eyes

Thanksgiving means being together with family and friends, including your four-legged ones. Happy Thanksgiving!

What will you be thankful for this #Thanksgiving? For Bill Stevens, the answer to that question is easy: Wrangler! The original @todaypuppy Puppy with a Purpose is a California guide dog now, and he’s been helping Bill lead a full, independent life as a professor at Santa Clara University.

It costs Guiding Eyes approximately $50,000 to raise each of these dogs, but individuals like Bill don’t pay a single dollar to receive them. Help us keep this service free to the people who need them with a donation of $5 or more now via the link in our bio.
