What a beautiful gift it is to get to go through life with other people. From our closest relationships to the people that make the goods we wear -- Life is about people and relationship. Lets show these people that they are valued -- that their time, skills, and dreams are important to us.  Lets be a people that lifts one another up!

Hope spreads like wildfire. Within months of our first co-op getting started, there was immense interest in starting another co-op a few miles away. Word had spread and women were hungry to learn, to work, and to pursue a brighter future for themselves and their families. Here is our second cooperative in Rwanda. They sing loud, dance hard, and work even harder. These are the women of Bugumira and we are proud to call them our partners!

Learning to weave, then selling your first handmade wares. Joining the literacy program, then graduating with its first class. Seeking menial work that may keep your children in school, then consistently providing for your family each month for the first time. This is the face of empowerment.

It’s in these “shithole” countries that i have seen resilience like never before. I have seen innovation and drive amidst little to zero resources. I have seen parents climb literal mountains to be able to feed their kids. I could go on but i shouldn’t have to. I shouldn’t have to defend a large portion of the world and why there are people there that deserve to live in our nation. I shouldn’t have to explain the dignity that should be afforded to all people, not only people just like us. I shouldn’t have to keep apologizing for the words of my president, sharing with my friends in these countries that his words are not my words. We do not agree.
His voice can not be the loudest one on these topics.
His racism and ignorance can not win.
I am hopeful knowing that Love will win, if we are willing to keep standing up. Willing to keep speaking up. Love must win.
Don’t stop using your voice and your platform to speak truth.
Let’s give Love the last word. -Rebecca
