Happy Birthday Edie Sedgwick!
Edie was an interesting woman. In 1965 she became the "It Girl" and influenced fashion. But what people don't seem to pay attention to is what really defined her. To me Edie Sedgwick was graceful the way she danced, the way she put words together in interviews, and her scars she survived in the hospital and at home. I may not have known her but I think she was innocent and elegant. She is truly missed.
Happy Birthday Quentin Tarantino!
Quentin is my absolute favorite director of all time. The first film I've seen of his was Kill Bill Vol. 2. I was 5, and it traumatized me haha, but 10 years later I adore it. The violence and story behind his films are immaculate. Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2, Pulp Fiction, and Four Rooms are very special to me, they're like an escape from reality. I hope he has a great day!
Happy Birthday River J. Phoenix.
River is the most influential role model to me. He created art. When I see him in My Own Private Idaho, he really makes me feel for his character (Mike). A feeling I rarely get. I would have loved to talk to him about the making of the film. He seemed to have such a passion for it.
River makes me want to make a difference in the world, to show my own take on art. To make the world feel how he would make them feel. He's the reason I'm going to pursue my passion for film. He taught me to never give up on what I believe in. He's special to me and many important people. He is greatly missed.
Today I'm going to celebrate how he lived, and I hope he lived a wonderful life.
