THAT TIME OF THE YEAR.
Because valentine's day is just around the corner, #2601cakesbysaintus is coming up with sweet desserts that you can give to your love ones. First on the list is our fudgy brownie topped with minty chocolate ganache. Perfect to share over a cup of coffee. #brownies

This cake endured a 4.5 hrs drive from baguio. We had to transport it fully assembled. The weather in Bolinao is on the warmer side (27°C). In the middle of our delivery, my partner has to turn off the car AC as we were observing some car trouble. Not long after, our car completely died on us. For almost an hour, my partner and I was busy under the hood to check what went wrong. Luckily. Husband found the problem and was able to fix it. Just before arriving at the destination, we need to passby a long and winding road (with all the sharp curves). Arrived in the venue just in time. And through it all, my cake survived! Cake is not even a fondant cake. Its purely ganached cake using white chocolate.
P.S sharing some details of the cake. All flowers were made from scratch and its a big as my palm.

One thing about visiting Zamboanga is you'll get to enjoy fresh seafood dishes without breakibg your pocket. I still remember my first visit here. My ex-boyfriend, who is now my husband, took me for a dinner here in Alavar. Everthing in their menu is sinfully delicious. I ended up having the grilled seafood platter. It has everything in it. From squid, to prawn, to crabs and clams. Even fish. But what was unique to this restaurant is their secret Alavar sauce. Its very rich and creamy. It really goes well with the platter. It was really a memorable experience. So a year or two after, I am back to this place with the same platter infront of me. They said the platter is for solo serving but its also good enough for sharing. Just be ready though. Since this platter is so yummy, you might need a little more than your regular carb intake. Believe me, I had 2 cups of rice. I would had gone for 3 but my husband was like laughing at me for having a big tummy. #alavar
PINK SAND BEACH.
Zamboanga is also known for its pink sand beach found only at Sta. Cruz Island. Its a 15 to 30 mins boat ride from Port Pilar. You just have to dropby the help desk and have a reservation to visit the island. Reservation is a must as the goverment limits the island's visitor to 500 guests daily. A boat ride costs around a thousand pesos which is good for 10 people.
Getting there, you'll enjoy the serenity and quietness of the place. You'll have the option to just lounge by the shore and read a book or enjoy swimming in the clear waters of the beach. The dand is really pink, more like the pink himalayas salt.
I recommend that you get the earliest boat to leave for the island as guests are only allowed to stay until 2 in the afternoon. Come visit Sta. Cruz Island!! #sizamboanga
Breathing in the serenity of this place as I say alittle prayer for this New Year. A prayer of prosperity, of hope and peace, of a heathly body and mind. Choosing positivity all the way. Breathing out a prayer of gratitude. Thanking God for all the blessings He gave last 2017.

My client wanted this cake for his friend who loves pandas and whom he haven't seen for awhile. He said its his welcome back gift, christmas gift, birthday gift all rolled into one. Client requested for a Rainbow Dash Themed Birthday Cake. I was like who? So I googled this cute pony and instantly loved it. I even watched a few episodes on youtube. They are just adorable. Totally loved it.

This Fairy House Inspired cake design has been the most complex I've ever made. Everything is made from scratch. But the most memorable part of this cake is when my trusted stand mixer brokedown. I thought I won't be able deliver this cake. Thankfully friends from the industry came to the rescue. Met the deadline just in time. Happy birthday to our dear client.
This cake is such a delight to make. Client wanted to surprise his fiancee with something cute and yellow. What can get any more cutier than Rilakkuma bears. Hope the celebrant loved her cake.
This project is by far the most difficult I've ever made. It took me whole day to pipe the flower and to assemble the cake. But the end result is a definite reward. Now available on our kitchen.
Its was a dream come true to be able to attend and be mentored by Ms. #bampiencenaves. I learned alot today. And the Salted Caramel Cake is to die for. Thank you for sharing today.
P.S. I carefully made this cake for my mom who celebrated her birthday yesterday. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to bake her fave Ube cake. So I hope this cake will compensate for yesterday. Happy birthday again @dvmartinez45 we love you!
