Life’s good when you can have your #burger and eat them too!
If following a diet or meal plan that restricts you from enjoying time with your family doing normal things, please tell me where the fun is in that ?
How are you supposed to enjoy life with your friends and family?
And what message are we sending our kids if we can’t enjoy a meal out with them that’s off the plan?
I’m all for showing them a healthy attitude towards food and that food is not the enemy #eattolive #loveyourbody #nourish #love #healthyhabits
I’ve never been one to put myself out there ..but I feel compelled to show woman above the age of 45 that you can get better as you get older.
I come from a Group Fitness Instructor background and I used to love to train for 10 hours plus every singe week and stress out about missing classes or going on holidays and not doing my “normal”. My diet was terrible, living on processed carbs, chocolate and basically not eating enough quality food to match my energy output.
I’ve learnt to do less than 4hours of exercise per week, take time off from training and eat more food.
If you think that eating less and training more often will get you leaner I’m sorry to say but you are wrong.
Working in commercial gyms I was over watching the same people Year in year out doing the same thing and not getting any results from the hours of training they were doing.
So I decided to do something about it !
I no longer wanted to teach people just how to exercise. I wanted to learn to help people TRANSFORM!
If you’re a Mum ........ Stop settling for second best Don’t accept that this is the way it’s meant to be if you feel un-happy about your health and body shape Stop feeling like you don’t deserve to look after yourself and that your family come first

I’m a busy Mum of 3 I’m 46 years old
I run my own business I’ve been married for 14 years and work at keeping the love alive
And yes I go to the gym without brushing my hair some days (I wish I could look glamorous when I’m sweating buckets)and sometimes I forget to wash my face until just before school pick up.
I do want to look after myself so I can keep up with the kids and be a “fun” Mum And I want to feel and look better than I did in my 20’s and 30’s.
I know that quick fixes don’t work for me. I’ve tried many times in the past and failed. I end up going backwards.
Working on me everyday means I get to be the best for those around me.
My family, my friends and my clients.
It’s taken 6 months (2 x MP programs) to get myself back to where i feel I represent what I believe in.
Here’s a little snippet of what I do-
4-5 training sessions per week (no longer than 45mins each) 3-4 of these are F.I.R.E (focused, intense resistance exercise) and the other 30min ICE (intense, cardiovascular exercise) training sessions
Eating 5-6 times per day (yes you need to eat more of the right food) Scheduled days off training where I stretch and foam roller to aid recovery and growth
I do all my own food prep
I haven’t been perfect and I don’t need to be. I couldn’t be even if I tried 🤪
I’ve eaten chocolate, cake, ice cream, drank a little alcohol occasionally. I don’t spend 2+ hours in the gym. 7 days a week
I’m still able to eat out with friends and family
I don’t stress out over counting macro ratios (carbs/protein/fat) Being perfect or compliant is not possible for me
I don’t rely on other people to prepare my meals or buy pre-prepared meals either.
I prefer to take sole responsibility for my actions and results.
As 2017 draws to a close I’m opening 6 spots for busy Mums who want to regain their health and vitality to join my next Body Transformation Challenge starting on January 22nd 2018.

Santa came and he Conquered!
It’s been a huge 4 weeks in the Basil’s household but now it’s me time.
The kids are happy (mostly). One got an iPhone and one didn’t. So we have a bit of drama
I got red roadmaps on my eyeballs and bags under my eyes 🤩
It’s all about the kids right.
I’m happy if I get to fit in my gym session.

All the early mornings, tired aching muscles are all worth it!
Remember the statistics show that as we age we lose our strength and muscle mass which is one of the main causes of “getting old” diseases such as osteoporosis, diabetes, heart disease and some cancers.
You guys are working to fight the aging process It’s been a big year of training so rest up. The body makes improvements when in recovery.

For me, stretching on a daily basis is just as important as all the lifting done in the gym.
I have found these 5 stretches with a resistance band very beneficial in the hours after training and in my non training days.
If you need to free up your shoulders, back, chest, hamstrings and hip flexors these are going to help you a lot Keep it for the hours after heavy lifting and on your off days as not to effect your performance with your lifting.

7 years ago I was blessed by the arrival of a little girl.
One who I thought would be all sugar and spice and all things nice ! You don’t do dresses, you don’t brush your hair, you don’t do Barbie.
So I guess you’re a bit of a Tomboy.
Hard not to be when you have to older, boisterous brothers!
You do bring much joy to my heart, cuddles and kisses when i need them most, stress and frustration when you mess with my wardrobe and cosmetics But most of all you give me unconditional love and make me want to be the best role model I can be for a young girl.

Today I was feeling pumped.
Couldn’t wait to get into my training session.
I’ll be honest, I don’t feel like this every day.
Not everyday is the same. Some weekends are more draining than others and this one was huge!
Some days I just want to flop on the couch and do nothing.
Motivation will only get you so far.
Discipline will take you all the way.
Will sitting in the couch get me closer to my goals? NO!
Staying disciplined WILL!

I used to be a toast, crumpet and porridge girl for breakfast.
I also suffered from IBS.
When I changed my diet of convenience food for vegetables, protein, better carb choices and some fruit guess what?
Plus I gained more energy, I got stronger in the gym and a leaner physique to top it off.

Ahh the excitement of starting your new 12 week block of training when your body feels fresh and raring to GO !!! This program I’m going to incorporate more work on the #fitball to get a bit more bang for my buck.
I don’t have a lot of time to waste in the gym so if I can train smarter and get more value out of my training session then I’m happy.

It’s the weekend ..don’t F IT UP!
Most people go off track over the weekend then wonder why they aren’t progressing with their transformation goals.
If your going out celebrating this weekend stick to mineral water, take a pre packed meal (I use the kids lunch pack to keep my food cold) and be the designated driver.
Come Monday you’ll be feeling like a million bucks 🤩🤩 No hangover

Don’t get disheartened when you feel like your transformation goals aren’t happening fast enough.
The reality is the leaner you are the harder you have to work for an even smaller result.
I’m happy to say I’ve reached my 12 week goal of fitting into these #nikepro shorts and now it’s on to the next #goal
I’ve tried the quick fixes in the past like food restriction, cutting calories, detoxing and over training but these are all temporary solutions that DO NOT last.
