I would wake up in the middle of the night feeling like I had just finished the craziest HIIT workout! My top was soaking!
.
I kept saying to myself “This can’t be normal” and “What is my body trying to tell me?” For years during my monthly cycle I would have the WORST night sweats! Like dripping! Can you relate?
.
It left feeling tired, cold and annoyed that I had to keep getting up to switch my t-shirt. And not to mention I was embraced when my man would try to cuddle and I was soaking! I knew it was a sign that my hormones were all out of whack and I was ready for it to stop.
.
The question I get the most is “How do I know if my hormones are out of balance?
.
What I tell my clients is our bodies are amazing and provide us with clues to what’s happening on the inside. These messages are a way to understand what is going on in our body and give us the power to fix it.
.
If you are feeling like something is off, that is usually the first indication that there might be an issue. If this is you I’d recommend asking yourself these questions:
All of a sudden am I:
🌿Having a trouble sleeping? Maybe waking up between 2-4am?
🌿Do I feel like my metabolism is slowing down? 🌿Am I gaining weight when I usually wouldn’t otherwise?
🌿How are my hair & nails? Thick and strong or thinning and brittle?
🌿Do I experience dry skin? Breakouts along the jawbone?
🌿Am I cranky, angry, sad and irritable most of the time?
.
If you answered yes to a few of these then you might be experiencing a hormonal imbalance. There is so much power in recognizing this because then you have the ability to change it! I am one to say that I do NOT miss waking up with those night sweats!!
.
If you can relate, know you are not alone! Tag 3 girlfriends below who could benefit from this. As women we need to stick together!

There is one thing we as women all have in common... we are on a hormonal rollercoaster ride at any stage of our life. This hormonal messaging system can dictates how we feel emotionally & physically.
🎻
It’s like a beautiful symphony when everyone has the same music sheet. But it can be a complete mess if everyone has a different piece they are playing.
🙉
.
Hormonal imbalances trigger fat storage and weight gain, and many other nasty symptoms like PMS, acne, painful breasts, migraines, cellulite, loss of libido, a disrupted monthly cycle, menopausal issues, and burn-outs.
.
Your hormones dictate virtually every part of your life: from your state of mind to your behavior, body shape, eating habits and even your reaction to stress.
.
There is good news, there are many natural tools to help you in the process of rebalancing your hormones and restore your energy, happiness and health! I’m here to share them with you!
👯‍♀️
Double tap if you can relate to being on a hormonal rollercoaster 🎢 and are ready to get off that ride.🎢💕🌟

I use to think that I’d find the best way of eating or exercising that worked for me and that would be it. Set for life. But that’s not realistic, our bodies, hormones and minds are constantly changing, which means that taking care of ourselves requires us to tune in regularly, ready to make small adjustment to fit the changes.
.
I want this little corner of the inter-web to be here for you to figure out how to take good care of you, Mind & Body. What’s the one thing about your health that you’d love to learn about and implement in 2018?👇🏼🌟🙋🏼💕

As I sat across from her sipping tea she asked me “How do I feel energized, balanced and strong in my body again?”
.
If you flick through social media you will get the impression that it’s easy and quick sound bites like “I’m vegan” “I do yoga” “I work out for 20 minutes a day” or “I work out two and a half hours a day” It can be overwhelming and discouraging and might give you the false impression that you can’t do it.
.
The truth is, although those sound bites are true for some, they don’t tell the whole story behind the post. We are now accustomed to getting our information immediately, in bite-size snippets or tweets, but learning how to really take care of yourself doesn’t happen immediately at all. In other words, if you want to make lifestyle changes, it doesn’t happen with a Like on Instagram. It takes time and discipline.
.
I really want to spread the word about some of the lessons I’ve learned and the things I’ve found that make me feel great not just in cliché snippets but in real life ways that will help you.
.
It’s my style on here to keep it real and let you know that you aren’t alone in this journey. I am here with a cup of tea sitting across from you listening to what you need to help you on this journey to being strong, happy and live an energized life! Because love, I’m on the journey too! Becoming healthy is an ongoing process, not a diet or a program that begins one day and ends in 21 days later.
.
So love, know that I am here, cheering you on, sharing everything I know to help you on this journey along side of me. I’d love to know what 1 thing you are struggling with the most right now. Weight? Hormones? Hypothyroid struggles? Staying on track? Or something else. Drop it is the comments below and I will be sure to help you with along your path with our arms linked!

Confidence isn’t a size, weight or number on a scale. It’s an ATTITUDE
👊🏼
It’s the way you walk through your life and how you hold yourself. Even when you are rocking that naked t-shirt on the head look ladies.

Double tap if you agree that navigating a healthy lifestyle is friggin HARD!! Ya, I feel you girl! Especially around this time of year! All those cookies and eggnog! Or even those appies that you don’t even really like but eat and then feel like poop.

I was tired of repeating the same Holiday season again and again… really every few months there pops up another holiday. I realized that if I didn’t learn to find a balanced place within me then the yo-yo of holiday jumping was going to continue indefinitely.
🤪
I had been the same for my whole life an now it was time to try something different. Not a diet. Not waiting for New Years to roll around and “start” again. I decided to slow down, start listening to my body and start creating a lifestyle that truly makes me happy. I started becoming body smart, a connection where you can listen to what your body and mind need and never feel like you are struggling and fighting with yourself again.
🌲
How many of you are saying to yourself “I’ll just start in the new year. It’s only 27 Days away!” I feel ya, that use to be me year after year. Double tap if you agree that exercise needs be FUN!! Kiteboarding is one crazy form of exercise I’ve ever seen. It’s breathtaking to see the skies above the sea of Cortez fill up and dance with kites of men & women of all ages.
🏄🏻‍♀️
There is no one right way to exercise. What I do for fun reflects what gives me pleasure. And, as you may have gathered from my photos, I like all kinds of things. My choices are constantly changing! An adventurer at heart, I probably will try anything once - from surfing to mountain biking, lifting weights or boxing. The purpose of it is to move and have fun!

THREE years ago I declared to never make New Years resolutions again!! And it’s stuck🙌🏼
.
Instead, I declared to do my best every month of every year. Learn to listen to my body and give it what it needs daily instead of yo-yoing it around. Because let’s be honest... we’ll never be as young as we are right now! And when we are in our 60s we are going to wish we made loved what we had now.
.
2018 is nearing are you thinking yet, “I’ll start in the New Year”? I feel ya sister!🙋🏼 done that for years. What if this year we did something different?
✨
Instead of making false promises with good intentions (that we all know by January 15th will fall to pieces), lets start now and make the declaration to love and care for ourself everyday, to our best to our ability and learn and grow with it.
💪🏼
Create an intimate relationship with our body, one that understands its needs and wants, what it likes, makes your feel energized and satisfied and what it doesn’t like and makes us feel crapy.
🙅🏼‍♀️
One where we find inner trust that centres us and guides us. Where we learn to tune into ourself so we don’t have to overthink what we eat every day. Start to integrate movement into our daily life in a way that makes us feel vital, strong and in control!
👯‍♀️
To finally find peace of mind and calm do you can sleep well and wake rested! Hello energy! But above all be able to listen to your body when it speaks to you. Connection is key!
🗝️
.
Double tap if you are ready to feel balanced, strong and energized! Let’s grab some sweet 80s gear like these cuties @kcstauffer and do this once and for all!! 🤸🏽‍♂️🧘🏼‍♀️⛹🏻‍♀️🏄🏻‍♀️

It was Christmas Day when I got my period for the first time. I was 14 years old and had no clue the huge thing that was really happening in my body.
♥️
It’s been 2 decades and I am finally feel like I fully understand how important a role our cycles play in our health. They affect our moods, weight, digestion, energy etc. I have been studying Women’s health and helping women for over 10 years and truly feel that it’s our hormones that play a vital role the health of our bodies and minds.
💃🏼
As women we are way more complex then our fellow men. Sorry guys but our bodies are kinda like the higher performing model car engine, so much more complex and can perform different functions.
.
The amazing thing is just like a car, our monthly cycle and hormones send us a “Check Engine” light when something is out of whack and needing tune up.
💡
Periods give us clues to help us know what type of treatment you need. How amazing is that?!? Ladies, t’s time to tune in and listen to our bodies.
.
I have been tracking my cycle with an app on my phone for years and it’s amazing! I highly recommend it. I use the My Period Tracker app that’s free but there are many to choose from.
📱
Really. Go download one! Sorry, tough Coach Musicco here 🤣 But really, start listening to what your body is saying and it will tell you what it needs or if not you it’ll help a practitioner like myself help find the best treatment or lifestyle changes for you.
💕
I’m curious, how old were you when you first got your period? I was 14 and seemed like one of the last of my girl friends to get it👇🏼🙋🏼♥️

Yet another twist in our plans for life. It’s official as of Friday we will be living full time back in our 30 square foot camper but instead of heading south to the warmth.... we’ll be spending it touring around our little island in cold BC instead of the desert sun for the next month. It’s looking like a white Christmas for us this year, Baja we’ll see you in 2018
🌵
We all have lessons in our life and I believe that ours is learning to go with the flow and trust that the universe is taking care of us. I truly believe the universe is showing us our path and although it’s not the warmest one yet. I know there’s a purpose behind it.
☀️
Do you feel like your life has had a certain lesson you seem to be continuously learning? Tell me below👇🏼 I’m curious to hear about what the #universe is whispering to you 🔮📿🙌🏼

SLOW YOUR SCROLL 👋🏼 Perfection is for Amateurs!
👊🏼
No, seriously stay with me on this! When you understand yourself, and connect to how you can become what I call body smart or tune into what your body needs, you realize pretty quickly that perfect is not the goal. Say what?!?!
🙋🏼
I know but the Instagram newsfeed tell us something different daily. Perfect family, perfect life, perfect body which is far from the reality of life. This is an important lesson that I have learnt and want you to learn too!
✨
Instead of being perfect, cause let’s admit it, that’s kinda boring, the goal is feeling GOOD in your body! Mind blowing, I know right?!?! That’s what leads to confidence, to feeling and looking fit, and being pretty darn happy! Doesn’t that sound great? I think so! Double tap if you are with me and excited to start feeling pretty amazing in your body too!

I hid from the messages my body was sending me for years 👋🏼
.
I felt bloated, irritable, I broke out with my periods every month. I thought that my digestive system was”normal” for me. I only had a BM 💩 every 3-4 days (Sorry TMI) but I know a lot of women are the same way I use to be and think it’s “normal” but unfortunately ladies it’s not. We need to keep that train moving daily.
.
Our elimination system, the colon, our skin, lungs, liver, lymph and kidneys, play a huge role in detoxing and regulating our hormones and keeping your body in optimal health. When we aren’t saying goodbye to our waste on a regular basis we are reabsorbing back into our system and creating a toxic environment.
.
If you are experiencing this or have been for years, know that you aren’t alone! It is very common! But it’s time to start to shift it and get things moving.
.
Here are 5 tips that you can start doing today that will help you start feeling a whole lot better. First let’s take out the processed food and adding in at least one of these into your routine:
.
🧘🏼‍♀️ yoga with twists
🤸🏼‍♀️20 minutes of some form of movement
⭐️ acupuncture session
🛁 dry brush before your shower
💦 2 litres of water a day
💊 adding in probiotics
🥗 4 servings of dark leafy greens and veggies
.
If this is new to you start small, trying one thing and commit to it for 3 weeks then look at adding on one more. I swear to you that once you get things moving you are going to feel more energized, your skin will glow, you’ll be rid of that irritability and feel a whole lot lighter 🙌🏼 and who doesn’t want to feel amazing?? I know I do! Double tap if you do too🙋🏼♥️👊🏼

Close your eyes.. take a deep breath... Can you smell it?? Cinnamon, nutmeg and butter escaping from the oven. Double tap if you are ready for some Holiday baking 👋🏼
.
Our family tradition, probably much like yours, is one where my nephews, mum and I hunker down for the evening to decorate our gingerbread house and bake some Christmas cookies.
.
This year we are going for White Old England style house with classic tinfoil wrapped Santa’s and homemade gingerbread.
.
I am not one to deprive myself of celebrating and holiday fun but I’m also not someone who throws everything out the window because “It’s the Holidays”. I’ve been there and done that 🙋🏼
.
I totally get you.. November and December are stressful - It’s cold out, you suddenly want to eat everything in sight, you have 100 different deadlines, so many demands to be social, it’s dark all the time, and you are just hoping to fit in to your pants after the new year! But the truth is, it’s NOT just about fitness or the demands of life.. it’s about having fun, sending this year out with a bang, and kicking the new year off like a BOSS! The most “wonderful time of the year” doesn’t have to be the most stressful time of the year!
.
So how do you get through the Holiday season without gaining 10lbs of weight to just hopes to shed it off in the New Year? This year you decided to ditch the Holiday gains and bust into the New Year feeling strong, lean and energized!
.
I going to be guiding women how to stress LESS, find balance, end this year on your terms and of course.. still be able to fit in your pants, lol!

Double tap if you agree that celebrating is SO much better and way more fun than being stuck on the struggle busy of comparison 🙋🏼
.
I am no stranger to that bus. I was stuck on the bumpy ride for too long. So I think it’s time to switch up our thought patterns. What if we celebrate who we are? where we are at.... or be excited about where we are going?!?
.
As a Health Professional I am no stranger to how hard we can be on ourselves and our bodies. After my hubs and I went through 4 miscarriages I felt like my body had failed me (picture on the left). I thought I would never be the same again. It had left me with 20lbs if extra weight and was mentally/hormonally a mess. It’s been a journey back to health and happiness but what has changed the most, besides the physical transformation is the mental shift.
.
I now can celebrate where I am, what my body has gone through and look forward to where it can go from here. I’m not going to lie and say it’s easy... but you are capable of amazing things! Trust and believe in you! Because I do!
.
No matter where you are in your journey know that you are doing amazing love. I am here for you because together we are stronger. And I know the greatness you are capable of.
.
Let’s celebrate each other, or struggles and our trumps because that is what makes us who we are. And that’s amazing and worth celebrating!

She gave me a cactus for my 13th birthday and I thought it was the strangest thing.... all I saw was that they were prickly and weren’t your typical plant but how their times have changed. I see them so differently now. They are my favourite plants of all time 🙋🏼
.
They are slightly awkward but confident with who they are, they stand up tall and don’t strive to be live a delicate rose. They need plenty of sunshine, are patient through a dry spell, conserve their resources, don’t desert their friends, wait for their time to bloom and stay sharp! I think I’m a lot like a cactus🌵
.
I’m curious, if you were a plant, what do you think you’d be? A lily? Orchid? Succulent? 👇🏼🌲🌵🌱🌴🌷🌹🌸🌻

Hi, I’m Katie! I live for discovering new beaches, my co-pilot has 4 paws and my hubs puts MacGyver to shame. I’m a wanderlust homebody who spends most days working from the couch with my rescue pup between my thighs.
.
I believe that hard times make us stronger... that life is meant to be lived to its fullest.... like the time when I decided to get my Doctor of TCM in my mid twenties, going through 4 pregnancy losses and the decision to live out of our little 4 wheel home on the beaches of the Baja over the winters. I also believe that vitamin D and salt air can heal anything.
.
I don’t have it all together, at all, I’m easily distracted and love to dream big but built a business based on helping other people achieve their goals, and live a strong, energized and inspired life! I push myself to show up fully in life and chase my dreams and I hold others to the same standards. I am committed to never stop helping them to reach their full potential and I believe we are each capable to amazing things and need to believe in ourselves.
.
I am obsessed with my adventure seeking hunk and our rescue pup from Alabama. We are 30 something snowbirds and spend the winters finding new amazing places. I’m a fitness coach, entrepreneur, acupuncturist, educator of Women’s and hormonal Health. I run multiple business but spend most of my extra time on my SUP board or cuddled up watching Harry Potter with a cup of tea.
.
I’d love to know more about you! Tell me below where are you from and what is your favourite thing to do on the weekends?👇🏼🙋🏼💕☀️🌵

My thumb hit enter again and again on the keyboard....while I sat in a grey walled room, neon lights beating down while watching the seconds tick by thinking “this isn’t exactly what I thought being an Adult would be like...” Dreading Monday’s.... longing for Friday’s.... and feeling like each week is a repeat. Kind of looks a lot like high school to me. At that moment I knew that cubicle life wasn’t for me.
.
10 years ago I made a choice to purse Life, to switch things us, follow my heart and worked hard to receive my Doctor of Chinese Medicine. It’s my passion for helping women to know that I they aren’t alone...to feel more confident, energized, feel understood, feel like they can be themselves and stop trying to blend in & be what every one else wants them to be.
.
Staying in a traditional job wasn’t for me. The road to following your heart isn’t easy, can be scary but is by far the most amazing adventure you could ever take.
.
Life is short. I can’t believe how fast the last 10 years have gone... my advice to you is to stop waiting, stop putting it off, waiting till you have this or that to start, waiting for the right moment, or to be fit to start start taking care of your health. Just start.
.
It’s taken me years to get here, even with all the road bumps and twists and turns, I wouldn’t have it any other way. We are heading down to Oregon and Cali in a couple weeks, Have you been? Love some recommendations of where to go, things to see, beaches to check out, great places to eat. Any suggestions? 👇🏼💑🐶💕🚙💨

In the spirit of keepin it real... let’s be honest, social media is full of people’s highlight reel and we can easily can a terrible disease... comparisonitis. I get it! It’s easy to be lost in what everyone else seems to be doing and feeling kind bad about ourselves. #beentheredonethat
.
The thing is it gets us no where and distracts us from our path. We end up wasting our valuable time trying to fit into a box.. that to me is pretty limiting.
.
Lets stop trying to make things perfect and start start living life. Take it from someone who took a detour down that road... get over it and get on with it! Double tap if you needed a little reminder today 🙋🏼🙌🏼 and let’s support each other in living a kickass life!

Baja we are coming for you! When it’s grey, wet and stormy outside my hubs always says “Close your eyes and feel the Baja sun☀️” I have to admit I have a hard time with it 😝

Women are tend to run colder than men, so I think I’d need to be in a deep meditation to feel the warmth his taking about. Who’s with me in that?
.
Do you tend to run warm or cold? Our internal thermostats, aka our thyroid, if it’s acting a little sluggish (hypothyroidism) we tend to run a little colder than normal leaving our hands and feet nice and cold. I know my man always love my chilli feet on his in bed. Pass the hot water bottle please. 🙋🏼

Fit isn’t a size or a number on the scale. It isn’t a body fat percentage or a cookie cutter mould that you need to fit into. Fit is a feeling inside of you and it looks different on every body.
.
I remember “running” half marathons with my mum, who by the way had to drag my butt the whole 21.5km 😂 as I am not a lover of running. To my surprise there was all shapes, sizes and ages all around me and it woke me up to seeing things differently. Fit looks different on every body!
.
I was not the fit girl growing up. I actually hated working out. I grew up with a brother who was the icon of fitness and still is. For some reason I believed that wasn’t me and I wasn’t blessed with the Fit gene. It was complete BS!
.
There is no fit gene. If you want it you have to work for it. I was telling myself a false story... it wasn’t that I wasn’t the “fit” type... it was that mindset that was holding me back.
.
One day I decided to ditch the pity party and do something about it. We all have a Fit chick inside of us!! Do you want to finally discover her once and for all? Or maybe she was once there, then you got comfortable in those “mom jeans” and forgot her. Are you ready to find her again? Because she is ready!! You just have to fight for her, break through the mindset that you aren’t worthy because love you are!!
.
Double tap if you are ready to discover or to find her again. To throw out that silly idea that you can’t be her... because you ARE HER!! ♥️

She asked me “Did you win the lottery?” I almost spit out my coffee. Living in a 30 square foot camper on the beach isn’t what most people think of when you win the lottery...but to me it is. It’s not fancy and looks a lot like yoga pants, hoodies, salt water dried hair and sand in my shoes.
.
Winning the lottery means slowing down, spending time with the people and fur family that mean the most to us, discovering new places, looking up at the stars, breathing in the fresh air, taking care of your health and body and having the time to laugh together, love and enjoy the here and now. The amazing thing is you don’t need to win the lottery to do those things 💵
.
The journey to a well lived life and healthy lifestyle isn’t something you just accomplish or can buy. It’s a choice, every day, choose with compassion and love to do what means the most to you. It’s about making small shifts and life long habits that will transform the way you live your everyday life with joy, energy and love.
.
So that is why helping you take care of you is my mission. Helping you live an energized life so that you can show up more fully for your kids, for your clients and for yourself. That IS like winning the lottery 🙌🏼
.
I’m over here.... helping you celebrate you! Helping you you create a life that your 90 year old you can look back and say “Well done love” 🥂 Tag a friend below who you want to sit across from at 90 and cheers each other’s life too👇🏼🥂👯‍♀️

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think about eating healthy? Let’s be honest it’s probably not waffles... am I right? Does it sound a lot like...
.
Depriving me of what I love to eat... nothing fun anymore... no carbs.... plain steamed veggies... constantly feeling hungry.... Well that’s just no fun! Who wants to live a bland, flavourless life. Not me!🙅🏼‍♀️
.
Let’s bust that myth right here. Eating healthy can be tasty, delicious and include waffles! Umm yes hello real life! Drop your favourite breakfast emoji below and I’ll post some healthy recipes like these waffles for you over the next few weeks👇🏼🥑🍓🍌🍳🌮
.
Applesauce Waffles
.
Here’s one of my fav Apple Sauce waffles to try this weekend.
.
Ingredients
.
1 egg, large
1/4 cup ground flaxseed or extra 2 large eggs
1 1/2 cups applesauce, unsweetened
1 1/4 cups any milk (I used unsweetened almond milk)
1/2 cup maple syrup or raw honey
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups oat flour (finely ground quick oats) - use GF if necessary
2 cups almond or hazelnut meal (finely ground nuts)
Cooking spray or coconut oil
.
Directions
.
In a large mixing bowl, lightly beat egg (s). Add flax seed (if using), applesauce, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, baking soda and salt; whisk until well combined. Add oat flour and almond meal, mix well.
.
Preheat waffle maker. Spray top and bottom griddles with cooking spray each time and make waffles according to your waffle maker's instructions. Amount of batter depends on the size of your waffle maker. I have similar to this one and used about 1/3 cup batter per waffle.
.
Storage Instructions: Refrigerate in air circulating container for up to a week or freeze for up to 6 months.

In the spirit of keepin’ it real over here... I have to admit it.... I get a bit of separation anxiety when I’m apart from my little spoon aka Mr Murray.
.
My favourite place to be is either in working from my couch in yoga pants, with Mr Murray curled between my legs or on the beach under the umbrella while her runs up and down the beach chasing the rays jumping. I’m not sure who saved who....
.
