My #2017bestnine just taught me that my followers aren't very interested in snake photos The majority of my posts are of reptiles, specifically snakes, yet somehow only one snake made it to the top. Maybe Instagram isn't the ideal platform to grow a reptile fan base, or at least maybe I should rebrand and separate my reptiles from my personal Instagram....just some late night/early morning thoughts.
I met my first large constrictor when I was only five years old. Since then, I've come to own over twenty-five different species of snake. It's amazing how the reptiles I encountered at a young age imprinted on me, and now here I am pursuing herpetology as a career. There's so much magic that comes with being around animals and nature, including the ones with bad reputations. Snakes are beautiful, gentle, and deserve a better rep, so every day I try and educate people whenever I can. Don't let society and media control the way you perceive things, come and learn by experiencing the wonder of reptiles in person. Happy World Snake Day, everyone. #worldsnakeday #reptiles #snakes #reptilelover
While in Orlando, we decided to go to Pulse and pay our respects to those who lost their lives in the shooting just over a year ago. Full of emotion, both sorrow and love, I implore you all to donate to HRC, The Trevor Project, or some other LGBTQ+ non-profits to help change the way the LGBT community is negatively perceived/treated every day. #pride #LGBT #love
