Remembering good times and warm vibes in Iceland back in March. Unfortunately I've heard this hot spring is no longer accessible, but I'm glad to have had a chance to take a dip in it when we had the chance. Luckily, there's plenty more around the country to keep you warm in the winter if you can manage to find them
Yellowstone is a place of intimate and peaceful scenes. Winding rivers through wildlife filled meadows and bubbling springs that remind you of another planet. It doesn't have the grand, dramatic mountain scenes that I am especially drawn towards, but despite the crowds, these scenes always pull me back. There's a special inner peace to be found in Yellowstone, just stay away from the most popular places like this one if you hope to find it
This is one of my favorite images of 2017 so far. It was extremely wet, and the heavy rain was making photography a real challenge... especially while trying to capture images from a distance with a remote shutter control.
The lens would be covered in rain drops by time I got chance to clean it and get back into position for the shot. Luckily, after more than a few tries we managed to capture an image clean enough to use. I often find that it's those tricky images that end up being the ones I look back on most fondly.
After wrapping up the 59 National Parks Road-Trip, @reneeroaming and I are in Australia for a week visiting family before flying back home to the US.
It's going to take a bit of adjusting to go back to living in a house rather than a van... but we're excited to spread our roots somewhere a bit more long-term after not having a "home" for the last 16 months. Don't worry though, our adventures will be just as photogenic in 2018
Some places have to be seen to be believed. I'm more of a mountain guy than an ocean guy, and I really need to be in the mood to put on the board shorts and get in for a swim... but this ocean trench in Samoa had me jumping in without hesitation On this occasion, @reneeroaming beat me to it...
We made it! Unbelievable. 59 National Parks, 23,000 miles driven, 39 states visited and a hell of a lot of fun had. @drinkevolve put on an incredible trip and we hope you've enjoyed following along. We still have some guides for the last 10 National Parks to put up, so I'll be posting stories as we get them online for you to check out - stay tuned In the meantime, check out the guide for Olympic National Park we put up recently at the link in my bio for some new images and useful info!
Can't believe we're up to the final 3 of the @drinkevolve 59 National Parks road-trip. This image is from back in Glacier National Park in July... Crazy how fast it has all gone. Time flies when you're having fun (and don't have a spare second to think much). Our friends at Evolve are getting their protein shakes in most Whole Foods starting up in the next couple weeks. If you haven't tried them yet, now is the time! The perfect road-trip snack/meal supplement
One of the more surprising stops on the @drinkevolve National Parks Road-Trip recently was Lassen Volcanic NP. We first visited this park 5 years ago, but it was early in the season and accessibility was limited. This time we had a chance to hit the trails and really explore this incredibly underrated place. If you're ever in the area, stop by for a day or two, you won't regret it Renee and I have just put up a new guide (Wrangell St Elias NP in Alaska) at the link in my bio, check it out!
This stop at Redwood National Park on the @drinkevolve Road-Trip was our second time there, and it won't be our last. There's a special kind of magic you feel when walking amongst some of the largest trees in the world.
If you haven't already, check the link in my bio for our latest guides to Lake Clark and Katmai NP
We visited Virgin Islands National Park on this trip a few months ago, and it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Not only that, but the locals were some of the kindest you will ever meet. Sadly, the whole island has been devastated by Hurricane Irma. 90% of the structures have been destroyed and thousands left without homes. If you are able, please consider donating to the relief efforts at the link in my bio. Thank you
One of the most epic displays of light I have had the pleasure to witness along the @drinkevolve National Parks Road-Trip... a beautiful, golden sunset with crazy rays caused by the sun hitting the back of the Tetons at just the right angle. Sometimes you're just in the right place at the right time (mostly not though ). Check the link in my bio to see our Glacier National Park guide that we recently put up
It's hard to beat lazy days on a lake surrounded by mountains. Where's your favorite spot to canoe?
We have just put up our Glacier National Park mini guide on the @drinkevolve website, check it out at the link in my bio. A whole bunch of information that should help those planning to visit the park any time soon, as well as a bunch of new images
One of the most amazing places and definitely one of my favorite stops along the @drinkevolve National Parks Road-Trip, Katmai NP. We had a blast watching these guys catch salmon as they swam upstream to spawn. Check the link on my bio to see the Grand Teton NP guide we've just made live for you all It has a bunch of new images as well as some handy tips of you plan on visiting the park.
The @drinkevolve National Parks Road-trip has been wild lately. @reneeroaming and I are now back in the lower 48 and starting to make our way through the remaining 17 National Parks, starting with one of my personal favorites, Mt Rainier NP Stick around to see some insanely beautiful places that we'll be visiting in the next couple of months
Our previous stop on the @drinkevolve National Parks Roadtrip was Kenai Fjords NP. We went on an overnight backpacking trip to the top of Exit Glacier and found these two wandering about. So fun watching the little one follow and learn from its mother. Crazy to think about the conditions these guys survive in up there as well.
Sorry for the lack of posts lately guys! The @drinkevolve National Parks Road-Trip has us currently in Alaska and out of service for the most part. Here's an image from a couple of weeks ago from back in Grand Teton NP, always one of my favorites.
Be sure to keep an eye on the link in my bio for new National Parks guides going up shortly
