Renee and I just returned from an epic week up in Canada with @travelalberta. We flew in a helicopter, ate lots of delicious food, ice skated, explored frozen canyons and drove some of the most beautiful roads in the world. Whenever I leave this incredible place, it always leaves me with one question... WHEN CAN I COME BACK? #explorealberta #myjasper
It’s hard not to feel humbled by the grandeur of this place. Towering waterfalls, dramatic granite walls reaching thousands of feet high. These things make braving the crowds worth it. Alternatively, just visit during the week in winter like we did earlier this year and enjoy some peace and quiet
Something from Iceland that I never got around to posting last year. Flying high above the incredibly powerful Detifoss, which was awesome to see after we couldn’t visit it the trip before due to the volcano eruption. I think it looks pretty nice dressed in white anyway, what do you think?
Who else could do with some beach time right now? ♂️I’m not one to complain about winter, I love it. The snow, the quiet, the beauty of fresh snow catching first light... what’s not to love... but a couple of days sipping pina colada’s while watching the sun set over the ocean would be real good right now
We had such an incredible time out yesterday. After driving 20+ hours to move from Colorado to Washington, then spending almost a full week locked indoors catching up on work, it was much needed. I hope everyone has the best time off this long weekend!
Thanks to @reneeroaming @christianannschaffer and @rendowan for the great company as always
I love the way the Tetons look at this time of the year. Fresh snow building up, the barns still accessible without trudging through feet of snow. I'll never tire of this place. Almost as good as the mountain views was being able to finish off the day at @springhillsuites in Jackson Hole. The hot tub was a perfect end to the day before hitting the town for a delicious meal. I only just left and can't wait to get back #sponsored
We just got back from an incredible time at the @springhillsuites in Jackson Hole, one of my favorite places on earth. There's never a shortage of things to do there... wildlife viewing, snowmobiling, hiking... all things we were able to do in just a few short days. Although this time of the year is often more quiet, it's certainly no less beautiful. #sponsored
Remembering good times and warm vibes in Iceland back in March. Unfortunately I've heard this hot spring is no longer accessible, but I'm glad to have had a chance to take a dip in it when we had the chance. Luckily, there's plenty more around the country to keep you warm in the winter if you can manage to find them
Yellowstone is a place of intimate and peaceful scenes. Winding rivers through wildlife filled meadows and bubbling springs that remind you of another planet. It doesn't have the grand, dramatic mountain scenes that I am especially drawn towards, but despite the crowds, these scenes always pull me back. There's a special inner peace to be found in Yellowstone, just stay away from the most popular places like this one if you hope to find it
This is one of my favorite images of 2017 so far. It was extremely wet, and the heavy rain was making photography a real challenge... especially while trying to capture images from a distance with a remote shutter control.
The lens would be covered in rain drops by time I got chance to clean it and get back into position for the shot. Luckily, after more than a few tries we managed to capture an image clean enough to use. I often find that it's those tricky images that end up being the ones I look back on most fondly.
After wrapping up the 59 National Parks Road-Trip, @reneeroaming and I are in Australia for a week visiting family before flying back home to the US.
It's going to take a bit of adjusting to go back to living in a house rather than a van... but we're excited to spread our roots somewhere a bit more long-term after not having a "home" for the last 16 months. Don't worry though, our adventures will be just as photogenic in 2018
Some places have to be seen to be believed. I'm more of a mountain guy than an ocean guy, and I really need to be in the mood to put on the board shorts and get in for a swim... but this ocean trench in Samoa had me jumping in without hesitation On this occasion, @reneeroaming beat me to it...
We made it! Unbelievable. 59 National Parks, 23,000 miles driven, 39 states visited and a hell of a lot of fun had. @drinkevolve put on an incredible trip and we hope you've enjoyed following along. We still have some guides for the last 10 National Parks to put up, so I'll be posting stories as we get them online for you to check out - stay tuned In the meantime, check out the guide for Olympic National Park we put up recently at the link in my bio for some new images and useful info!
Can't believe we're up to the final 3 of the @drinkevolve 59 National Parks road-trip. This image is from back in Glacier National Park in July... Crazy how fast it has all gone. Time flies when you're having fun (and don't have a spare second to think much). Our friends at Evolve are getting their protein shakes in most Whole Foods starting up in the next couple weeks. If you haven't tried them yet, now is the time! The perfect road-trip snack/meal supplement
One of the more surprising stops on the @drinkevolve National Parks Road-Trip recently was Lassen Volcanic NP. We first visited this park 5 years ago, but it was early in the season and accessibility was limited. This time we had a chance to hit the trails and really explore this incredibly underrated place. If you're ever in the area, stop by for a day or two, you won't regret it Renee and I have just put up a new guide (Wrangell St Elias NP in Alaska) at the link in my bio, check it out!
This stop at Redwood National Park on the @drinkevolve Road-Trip was our second time there, and it won't be our last. There's a special kind of magic you feel when walking amongst some of the largest trees in the world.
If you haven't already, check the link in my bio for our latest guides to Lake Clark and Katmai NP
We visited Virgin Islands National Park on this trip a few months ago, and it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. Not only that, but the locals were some of the kindest you will ever meet. Sadly, the whole island has been devastated by Hurricane Irma. 90% of the structures have been destroyed and thousands left without homes. If you are able, please consider donating to the relief efforts at the link in my bio. Thank you
One of the most epic displays of light I have had the pleasure to witness along the @drinkevolve National Parks Road-Trip... a beautiful, golden sunset with crazy rays caused by the sun hitting the back of the Tetons at just the right angle. Sometimes you're just in the right place at the right time (mostly not though ). Check the link in my bio to see our Glacier National Park guide that we recently put up
