Massive shout out to all the men racing for cancer awareness in the Daredevil Run today! Thousands of guys wore purple speedos for a purpose this afternoon in cities across SA. The idea is to raise awareness for the five cancers that are top killers of men in SA: prostate, colorectal, lung, Kaposi Sarcoma and bladder cancer. Here’s what you can do to lower your risk:
1. Check your nuts! We've written a guide on exactly how you can examine yourself for early signs of testicular cancer. The link is in our stories - just watch and swipe up.
2. Don’t smoke.
3. Don't put off having a prostate exam if you're over 50 (or over 40 if you have a history of prostate cancer in your family).
4. Encourage other guys to take responsibility for their health. Catching cancer early gives you the best chances of a beating it with a good outcome!

5 years ago yesterday, March 11th 2013, I wasn’t feeling well to say the least and drove my self to the ER having know clue my life was about to change forever. My blood sugar was over a thousand and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes.
It can be a tough disease to live with at times. Some days being harder then others. The beautiful thing of it all is that I’ve been able to help and inspire people all over the world
Type 1 Diabetes has changed my life for the better. It has empowered me and enabled me to tap into a strength I didn’t know I had. God willing, I hope to continue to attack life day in and day out and make all of my dreams become a reality

It was neck and neck from the gun for two-time U23 MTB Cross Country World Champion @samuelgaze (front) and current World Champ @nschurter (back) at the @epicworldcup in Stellenbosch today. Gaze put in a super-human effort on the line to take the win in a sprint finish. What a race!
The event was the opening leg of the UCI Cross Country World Cup series and saw the best cross country riders in the world descend on the town of Stellenbosch to kick off the season.

Secrets of speed and power with Olympic 400m sprint champ Natasha Hastings:
1. Do dynamic stretching after your warmup - static stretching isn't great for your fast twitch muscle fibres. So get moving!
2. Do skipping exercises that will activate your fast twitch muscle fibres and warm up your central nervous system. Keep your arms pumping with the elbows held at right angles. Your hand should swing from cheek to cheek - butt cheek to face cheek. And get those knees up!
3. Hurdle jumps and squats, finished off with a sprint. These will fire up your glutes, hams and quads while building explosive power.
Incorporate these into your training to level up your running speed and power!

Got stuck into this garage home workout to incinerate some calories and give the muscles and lungs a solid blowout! Complete as a continuous circuit:
1. Offset squat and press.
2. Single leg RDL's
3. Stagger barbell rotations.
4. Kneeling get ups.
5. Single knee support roll outs.
6. Sumo squat to rotational press.
7. Weighted wheelbarrow push
Hit 5 rounds working in the 10-15 rep range per exercise....rest as little as possible throught... Minimal equipment, maximal workout! Tag or share with a mate who likes working out at home!
