First descents in the winter and first ascents in the summer! The Turbio Valley holds some of the most incredible granite walls in the world, just waiting to be climbed. Come and see what this mountain paradise has to offer, in this remote corner of Patagonia.
Standing tall at an elevation of 2,515 meters (8,251 feet), Cerro Dos Picos is the tallest peak in the Chubut province of Argentina. This iconic tower of rock rises 1,800 meters (5,905 feet) from the valley floor, high above Lago Cholila. It greets us from afar each morning before we launch and watches over us like a sentinel as we fly around its steep faces in search of the next great ski descent.
Throwback to the early 1900s, when Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid called Cholila their home. Here is the trio of Harry Longabaugh (the Sundance Kid), Etta Place, and Butch Cassidy at their log cabin hideout in Patagonia.
Today, we still call Cholila our hideout home, as we adventure through the Patagonian wilderness, far from modern civilization.
We are honored to be featured on the pages of The Avalanche Review (TAR), December 2017. The article by Sean Zimmerman-Wall is titled Forging Ahead, A Look At The Beginning of Patagonia Heliski, pages 20-23.
