Woke up back in RVA thinking about some of the incredible food we had while in Cape Town. From super spicy and flavorful modern Indian cuisine at @thali_capetown to an unforgettable meal so stunningly plated in a gorgeous setting at @chefswarehousebeauconstantia...omg. Can't forget about the enormous (and delicious!) oysters we had soon after our arrival in Camps Bay or, of course, the BILTONG...this one was by far the best according to my expertise (haha) which we devoured while at the gorgeous Oranjesichtz City Farm market. Can we go back yet @goldfish001?
Michael feeds an elephant at the @wildhorizonsvicfalls Elephant Camp! What an incredible experience this was...for the last two days, we stayed at a beautiful lodge run by Wild Horizons. At our camp, they rescue orphaned or injured elephants and other animals, including a cheetah named Sylvester who was found abandoned in the bush when he was three days old and wouldn't have survived in the wilderness on his own. At this sanctuary, these animals are raised with so much care and trained to eventually survive in the wild. Once they are ready, they get released back into the wilderness. Fantastic organization. What a great way to end our honeymoon...hope to see you again soon, amazing Africa!
Botswana was incredible. We saw so many stunning creatures including giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, warthogs, and hippos...photos coming soon! But for now, here's a photo of us in Victoria Falls this morning taken by Wonder, our awesome guide with the coolest name. PS check out Michael's dope shark socks.
"Oh look, it's a dead hippo!" Our mokoro guide tells us as we approach a strange object in the water. As we get closer, he asks me to zoom in on it with my camera. "What do you see?" He asks. Surprise! It's a float filled with snacks and champagne for us!! He then drags the float so that the sun sets right in front of us while we sip our champagne in the mokoro. No words.
Can't leave Cape Town without saying hi to some baboons and penguins...we also got to paraglide over Cape Town and have a stunning sunset drive through Chapman's Peak!! The beauty of this town is endless; never-ending breathtaking views, amazingly scenic roads, and sunsets that leave you speechless. Botswana tomorrow...!
