Recently, my coach got his commemorative Olympic book from Rio and I had a feature in there! It's so cool to reflect on where I'm from and what I've experienced to get to the point if having an Olympic moment with my coach and for the USA. Not bad for desert girl who grew up in a trailer park. Work hard, be smart, and take the opportunities presented to you. Who knows where you'll end up?

I'm not as good in the single support phase as I used to be when I was a thrower (meaning being on one leg during a movement) but, hey, I'm trying. Watch as I struggle. This exercises is a good little warm up for the lower back and hamstrings and working on your balance. It's a "one legged RDL." With one leg sightly bent and the other off the ground, bend over in control (i was over confident with my right side and rusty on my left) with your back straight and use your opposite leg as a counter balance. I picture the movement like I'm one of those drinking bird toys.

Psych! You thought I was going to do a push up.
This is a warm up I do regularly for my upper back: Scapular push ups. In a push up position, you retract your shoulder blades. I am not a model of perfection in this exercise but, I like it and find it helpful. The difficult part for me is to keep my arms locked out.

At least I'm only doing dummy lifts today so I don't actually NEED longer shorts. Dear women's fashion, please give us longer inseams.
