Quoted from, "The Eye of Photography"...
"In 2015, the Chinese photographer @ZhongWeixing launched a major project: he began systematically taking portraits of great photographers. The collection of these images constitutes an exceptional panorama, a sort of pantheon, but above all a stirring homage to those who labor with passion in order to make photography a major art of our time,"... and I was HONORED to be included in this masterful work by Zhong. Along with Weixing's book cover is a photo taken by my assistant, Kathy Lener of Zhong & I during the photoshoot. #FacetoFace can be purchased on Amazon. -- #blackandwhite #JeanLucMonterosso #AlainFleischer #ZhengGu #photography #photographers #portraits

Check this out... I captured a very young @BryanCranston & actress, Sandy Bowen, August of '84, Beverly Hills, CA, 34 years ago. Today Cranston turns 62, #HappyBirthday! Best known for his roles in #MalcolmintheMiddle & #BreakingBad, Cranston commemorated the final episode with castmate #AaronPaul @glassofwhiskey, by getting Breaking Bad tattoos on the last day of filming; Cranston's tattoo consists of the show's logo on one of his fingers, and Paul's consists of 'no half measures' on his bicep - (wikipedia). Bowen once married to #Kiss frontman, Paul Stanley is known for her roles in dozens of TV shows including "Six Feet Under" "Everybody Loves Raymond"and "Days of Our Lives".

Managing to stay together for 55+ years, Rolling Stone guitarist, Keith Richards may have placed a wedge between him & the groups lead singer, Mick Jagger. In a recent WSJ article, Richards quipped, that Mick "is a randy old bastard, it's time for the snip—you can't be a father at that age. Those poor kids!" Richards responded to Mick becoming a father at the age of 73, welcoming his eighth child early last year. After the magazine's interview was published online, Richards issued a statement to E! News. "I deeply regret the comments I made about Mick in the WSJ., which were completely out of line," the rocker said. I have of course apologized to him in person." Named 7th by the #AFI as the greatest female screen legend, #ElizabethTaylor would have celebrated her 86th birthday today. In her prime, Taylor wasn't just considered the most stunning starlet in Hollywood, but the most beautiful woman in the world. I took this dazzling headshot of Taylor in 1968 at "A Flea in her Ear," premiere in Paris. #Cleopatra #richardburton #HIV/AIDSactivism #nationalvelvet #virginiawolf
I had the pleasure to host the high energy, #RappinWiththeRickster street photographer, Ricky Powell @thelazyhustler & his good buddies, Craig Wetherby @mistergoodlife and #ThomasTonoRadvany. Ricky was so gracious, signing a copy of his book, #TheIndividualist for me and my photo editor. As we leafed through the book I was surprised to find a photo of me and him taken in 2006 at my Jersey home. Great shot! As we caught up on both our lives Ricky revealed that a documentary about his life is currently in the works and as of yet does not have a working title. But it's the same crew that won awards for the OJ documentary, #MadeInAmerica. Hope you enjoy the clip @debimazar. #streetphotographer #OhSnap #PublicAccessRickyPowellPhotographs #beastieboys Video: Kathy Lener
Contrary to what the internet is saying, #SlyvesterStallone is alive and well. A death rumor resurfaced that the #Rocky star passed away after Facebook fans started circulating that the 71 year old actor has prostate cancer. This vintage photo of Stallone was taken in November of '76 at the New York premiere of his well loved, "Rocky" movie. Stallone's sleeper hit made for just over a million dollars was the highest grossing movie in 1976, earning $225 million in global box office receipts and went on to win three oscars including best picture. #academyawards #nationalfilmregistry #greatsportsfilms #rockyII #rongalellaarchive
This vintage photo taken a little over a year before #JimmyHoffa went missing, at the Booksellers Association Convention, Washington, DC, June of 1774. Hoffa, once president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, was promoting his new tell all book; "Hoffa: The Real Story," by James R. Hoffa as told to Oscar Fraley. If Hoffa hadn't mysteriously disappeared in July of 1975 while waiting for a few gangster friends at the Red Fox Diner in Bloomfield Township a suburb of Detroit, he would have turned 105 today. Further to this story, acting legends Robert Deniro and Al Pacino will be reunited once again in the #Netlfix blockbuster film, "The Irishman," directed by @MartinScorsese. One theory is Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran, played by Deniro had a role in the unexplainable death of Hoffa. Netflix surely believes it has a hit on its' hands, spending 105 million on the crime drama which is set to debut in 2019.

Sixties/seventies #pop singers, #VicDamone & #ConnieFrancis attend the Italian American Civil Rights League Event at Madison Square Garden, 11.20.70. Sadly, Damone passed away Sunday at the age of 89 due to complications of respiratory failure. Damones' velvety baritone voice was heard during the heydays of fellow singers, Sinatra, Como & Bennett. Frances, most famous for her single, "Mama," & now 80 years old continues her singing career. In 2010 she appeared in Las Vegas with Dionne Warwick in a show billed, "Eric Floyd's Grand Divas of Stage".

Wishing #NickNolte a Happy 77th birthday today. With early aspirations of becoming a professional football player, instead, Nolte transformed into one of the most accomplished actors on the planet. His moody, tortured soul roles landed him Academy nods for #ThePrinceofTides, #Affliction and #Warrior. Since he never took home an academy statue perhaps his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which he received this past November is sufficient for now. Lisa Marie Presley turns 50 today, Happy Birthday Lisa! Here's a composite photo of Lisa channeling her legendary father, @Elvis. The photo of Lisa was taken in 2003 when she appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, NYC. She told @Letterman that she inherited "b*lls" from her famous dad. If you have a moment watch the clip, it's a classic: https://goo.gl/PZgywA. The lead singer of the rock band #Genesis and solo artist, @officialPhilCollins celebrates his 67th birthday today. The English drummer, singer-songwriter and record producer, clearly enamored by @RobertPlantOfficial @ledzeppelin was snapped at Collins' Tour Party on 09.12.83. My research found this note in The Alchemists Archive: Plant and Collins jokingly staged a kiss for the photographers at their after-show party held at the BeBop Cafe, a rockabilly club in New York City.
Further notes from The Alchemists Archive:
A few months ago I posted to the Zeppelin Mysteries thread Phil Collins comments concerning 'No Jacket Required'; the album title was directly inspired by an incident he experienced while touring with Robert Plant in 1983.
No Jacket Required
The album is named after an (Aug/Sep 1983) incident at The Pump Room restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. Collins (entering the restaurant with Robert Plant, was denied admittance because he did not meet the restaurant's dress code of "jacket required" for dinner, while Plant was allowed in. Collins was wearing a jacket, and argued about it. The Maitre d' argued that the jacket was not "proper". Collins, in an interview with Playboy, said that he was, at that point, never so mad in his life. After the incident, the singer often appeared on shows such as Late Night With David Letterman and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, denouncing the restaurant and telling his story. The management of the restaurant later sent him a complimentary sport coat and an apology letter, stating that he could come to the restaurant wearing whatever he wanted.
